Saw Shonen Knife tonight. They were Kurt Cobain's favorite Japanese punk rock outfit. That's how I was originally turned onto them. So this was a big bucket list show for me.

Seems to be full of 80's synthwave stuff.

This gal opened last night for Frank Turner and was pretty good! Looks like she sang in a band called The Scarlet Ending for a dozen years in the 00s before going solo.

Caught Swervedriver for the second time. Last time around they played through their first two records. This time it was a collection of various tunes. They really don't seem to be too big here in the States. Fairly small crowd to when I saw them in Europe. Maybe British shoegaze flavored rock never made it big here. Some of you who are unaware of the band might recognize their songs Duel and Last Train to Satansville from the videogame Road Rash. They also had Duel in Burnout Paradise.

Rico Nasty is great. Loved the song she and Doja Cat did early this year. Tia Tamara.

Flea is releasing his memoir tomorrow. I'm gonna see him in Chicago talk for an hour and a half. You get a signed book too. Love Flea a whole lot. Sure my view of the last Chili Peppers record is very negative (I'm With You was pretty lukewarm to my ears as well), but that doesn't take away from how I view him and how much happiness he has brought me on many of the records he has played on.

Here he is talking for about 40 minutes answering various questions about the book and other life stuff.
