Didn't the most reliable leak source say that it has 3 hours of battery life?  :doge

That's 3 hours more actually-portable than the Wii U's GamePad.

"Switch" is wayyy better than "Xbox One".

Disregarding the other 10 things that came out around that time with "One" at the end of the name, wasn't the whole point of "Xbox 360" was to have "more bigger numbers" than the competing PlayStation? Dopes.

I hope the Switch does great. We need a hardware manufacturer that's willing to do something different other than clone the competition (XB1/PS4).

Um, who cares? It's nowhere near as bulky as a PS4 in its minimum configuration, and that's what everything is going to be built around. Anything added by dock hardware is going to be bells and whistles.

The Nintendo Switch game console coming in March won’t be more powerful than Sony’s three-year-old PlayStation 4, according to sources familiar with the system.

Two sources (who asked to keep their names out of this story) confirmed to GamesBeat

...

the machine is still powerful enough to play Nintendo-style games that rely on quality art over horsepower, but don’t expect Switch software to match the graphical fidelity of the highest-end PS4 games.

Switch’s visual capabilities could still satisfy most gamers. Nintendo has implied it can handle realistic-looking games like Skyrim and NBA 2K in the trailer for the system.
Quote
To give you a sense, we expect the Nintendo Switch to be more than 1 teraflop in performance, but far less than the 6 teraflops that Microsoft is promising for Scorpio.
Quote
The Switch could still be appealing.
Quote
Based on the video, it certainly looks like there is no touchscreen, as you attach the secondary controllers to the sides of the tablet.

It's essentially a WiiU duct taped to its own controller. It's not going to melt eyes.  Not that it matters, Nintendo stopped caring about exploiting their hardware to their fullest a long time ago, and 3rd parties won't give a shit again.

We'll probably need to wait until Red Dead Redemption 2 (Maybe Horizon?) before we see anything match or exceed Witcher 3 in terms of forested and mountainous areas in an open world, be that in terms of graphics or content.  I guess Far Cry Primal is close on the graphics, the lighting looks really good in that game.

It's kind of sad how shitty forests still look like in a lot of games.  :doge

Seems pretty powerful for a little handheld.  I don't get what people are going on about here.

The real question is if they actually get third party support this time.

no.

:stahp

This is exactly the problem with a design like this. It's mind-boggling Nintendo is going through with it.

It's a powerful handheld but as a console it's way underpowered. So as a console, it's just not very good.

As a handheld it's not very good either because it's so huge and the battery lasts like 2 hours or some shit. Lol.

What is this shit?

The Nintendo games for this better be amazing but I doubt it.

They already said the battery life is on par with the 3DS.

Let's go ahead and trash the thing before it's even out, bros.  :doge

Hopefully the Japanese 3rd parties who worked on 3DS, with a few of the Vita stragglers (Falcom).

Not using the Tegra X2 is the only thing genuinely disappointing, though. Especially since its whole deal is efficiency gains in battery life and system power. Nintendo have to be either selling this thing as cheap as possible or they are genuinely high AF if they are still using an X1 and want $300 for it.

It's under powered compared to the nVidia shield apparently but it has better OpenGL compliance than anything Apple has out, so there is that.

And yeah it's gonna be way over priced.

While I think Nintendo is a shit company and this will be a shit system, all they gotta do is announce a new Xenoblade or Bayonetta. Both of those games on the Wii U are amazing and honestly looked really great on a pretty weak system.

They recently said that an improved version is going to start shipping in January with higher-quality parts, including a d-pad and buttons.  :)  I enjoy mine not just for emulation, but also for when console releases fail me, I.E. Shantae Half-Genie Hero doesn't have cross-save on PS4/Vita.  So OK...I can just play the Steam version on my desktop and the WIN and let Steam auto-sync the saves for me. :pimp

This is supposed to be a 'learn from our mistakes' machine. Pricing it for more than what a PS4 standard model goes for would be suicide. Which means they might.

It's a rebranded Shield. Internal storage is shit. No external storage. The dock is a glorified HDMI out.

So yeah, $299.

I wonder about games price too. It's going to be a proprietary SD card copycat, isn't it.
