I decided to bite the bullet and look it up. Seems Trumpkins/alt-righters misled a reporter or something about its prominence and Hillary's team repeated the article and so it blew up and is now a cultural staple?

This fucking modern time  :oreilly

It didn't help how many people were called assholes when pointing out how stupid it was to give that importance to a stoner cartoon frog.

They were called a lot more than that, from alt-right supporters to neonazis, which brings me to my next point...

who is normalizing nazis????

The only group I've watched consistently normalizing the far-right is liberals and to be more specific a certain subset of liberals. When you keep calling everyone that disagrees with you an alt-righter or a neonazi people who were accused of that or know others that were accused of that will eventually think "hey maybe these people aren't as bad if Paul, the peaceful stoner next door who thinks Pepe is fun is an alt-right supporter and probably a neonazi".

I'm oversimplifying it of course but subconciously this happens. Especially when these geniuses accuse large groups of people not affiliated with the far-right, just people who either support Trump because they're desperate and angry or agree with parts of his narrative or, you know, disagree with SJW dogmas.

HOLY SHIT PD HOW DID YOU NOT
http://www.wxyz.com/news/region/oakland-county/ad-for-attorney-geoffrey-fieger-sends-message-he-wants-to-run-for-president-in-2020
Quote
There are 1,389 days until the 2020 Presidential Election and Attorney Geoffrey Fieger is wasting no time.  His new ad sends the message he wants to be the next President of the United States of America.

The ad starts out like many Fieger Law ads.

"For year’s now you have heard me say, if you don’t stand for something, you end up standing for nothing,” Fieger says in the beginning of the ad.

It then goes in a direction where none of his ads have gone before. It attacks President-Elect Donald Trump, saying Trump tapped into hate to get elected.

It ends with Fieger saying he has a different vision for the nation’s future. It reads, “2020: A Clear Vision for America.”

“I am 100% more qualified than Mr. Trump,” said Fieger in a one-on-one interview about the ad with 7 Action News.

Attorney Fieger says he believes Trump’s plans to build a wall, comments on race, and controversial cabinet choices put our constitution at risk.

“Attorneys are the foot soldiers of the constitution,” said Fieger.

He wants to be the Commander in Chief for our country, the President of the United States.

“Listen,” said Fieger when asked if this was a publicity stunt. “I ran for governor. It wasn’t a publicity stunt.”

Keep rolling your eyes. The way things are going the next far-right nutjob is gonna be worse than Trump. And btw the hope that the old generations will die off doesn't hold water anymore, the alt-right is already recruiting plenty from the new generations thanks to SJW idiocy. So good luck and keep up with your tactics, I, unlike you, have dual citizenship so I don't worry so much.

Because Hillary Clinton made anti-GamerGate and anti-Pepe diatribes the centerpiece of her campaign.

Also that time she said "KILL ALL WHITE MEN."

Because it is. The alt-right is actively using SJW stupidity to recruit. Just look at what Milo is doing by purposely aggrevating the idiots so that they can react like he wants them to or which stories these people are using in their feeds. It's about college censorship, it's about idiot liberals screaming at someone, it's about SJWs forcing 100 different gender pronouns on people, it's about idiot San Franscisco hipsters who control social media censoring them which only makes them look like rebels and supports their distinguished mentally-challenged conspiracy theories. That's what they use to convince people, this is undeniable.

The alt-right is basically a non-entity of any importance. It'll blur away quickly enough. It's just the KULTUR WAR for a new generation. It's just finding new flashpoints as gay marriage and homosexuality in general becomes NORMALIZED with most people. Anti-PC has been a thing all the way back to when Bill Maher actually did comedy.

They'll start fighting over religion or something else soon if things go according to schedule.

You're making the mistake of thinking anti-sjw = alt-right.

The irresponsible culture war stuff and the issues with the media turn more than alt-righters away. And the left keeps (like you) pretending it's not a thing, which enforces dislike. If you can't drag your own side out of the mud, any moral grandstanding against a Trump rings hollow.

‘This is the greatest guy’: Trump meets FedEx courier, offers him $10,000

Quote
"After the call, Trump signed an autograph for Bouvet’s 4-year-old son. Trump asked Bouvet if he was still with the mother of his child. Bouvet said no, and the thrice-married Trump said, “That happens.”

Then he looked at the autographs he had scribbled, and made a prediction: “After that, she’ll have you back. You’ll be a great celebrity.”

Eventually, Trump and his staff posed for photographs with Bouvet and offered him a round of applause. At the end, Trump put his hand on Bouvet’s back and told an aide, “Send him a check for $10,000.”

Bouvet broke down and cried."

The Spencer rant and the reaction to it is interesting considering we aren't far away from Hilary talking up a state run fact checker and the evil of fake news.

The rant is petty, very Trumpian, but that means he gains from it and the press look petty for doing stuff like the MLK bust and the fake webpage scandal.

This isn't the first and won't be the last time they're spreading completely fabricated news and they're not shooting themselves in the foot. Like fake news the target is to spread the propaganda as fast as possible which they're doing well, even if they're proven wrong later the damage has already been done.

To bad that this is probably the kind of stuff that Trump is so thinskin about.

Trump to Trump supporters is an idea, an idea each one has molded according to their ideology and needs. Some trolls just fucking hate liberal pretentiousness and hypocrisy for example so they see the "honest Trump who tells it how it is" ignoring the golden houses, his own vast hypocrisy and his attempts to silence critics.

I'm generally amazed that the media doesn't "get" it by now. Then I realized a lot of these people have probably never experienced internet trolling. Like, I doubt Chuck Todd grew up being trolled online. The handwringing every time Trump repeats something that is blatantly false just blows my mind. It's clear that he's not talking to us, or the media. He's talking to his base. And his base was big enough to elect him president (in part thanks to many liberals staying home in key areas).

I'm not saying the press shouldn't do their job, ie report the news, investigate, etc.But at this point I'm tired of the deer-in-the-headlights "I can't believe he keeps saying xyz" act.

The press's best response would have been a mea culpa about the misreporting about the bust and the webpages. Save your astonishment for when something is actually done. Save it for things the people need defense against. All I'm watching is something akin to a tantrum between siblings.

Nah, the mea culpa in this case would just cover half of the tantrum, the one that goes to the dangerous territory of authoritarian. The actual mea culpa should be to the public that should expect better from the Press and the Government.

But not big enough to be the actual majority. That's why Trump is so touchy about the popular vote.

Media will never apologize nor should they for that shit. That MLK story seemed like textbook clickbait shit: half or none of the truth for clicks. This is the direction the media has chosen over the last few years. Gotta make money online somehow.
