I fucking wonder why.

Some of us aren't the children of Russian immigrants.

Some of us are descendents of people that literally died for freedom to become a part of America and be seen as human beings.

And now I have to witness this fucking country pull this shit! As I sit here without any viable representation. I am PISSED and I have zero time for cac sarcasm and buffoonery.

Hilary is getting her licks in while she can because if Bernie wins the nomination not only will she have to begrudgingly vouch for him (because if she doesn't and Bernie loses against Trump it will tarnish her legacy) but if she supports him and he wins, it will STILL tarnish her legacy because people will blame her for the previous 4 years of Trump. She has worked herself into a painful lose-lose.

Hillary Clinton is like that mid level boss that keeps popping up in a new color dropping slightly different loot even though you've already beaten her like ten times already.
She's kinda like the Anthem of political candidates if you think about it.

Interpreting not justifying. Like her husband (whose favourite book is fittingly and unashamedly "The Denial of Death") they are both careerist narcissists and legacy has been the endgoal of their entire lives, more so than your typical politician.

I don't know how someone could read my last post and think i'm defending her. The nicest thing I can think to say about Hilary is that she was adept at being a rapist's beard.

Is there any chance of ~3 of these being replaced by Democrats before the presidential election?
Could the President be impeached again for the same two counts, eg, after the House has obtained a deposition by Bolton?

Probably the best outcome for Democrats is gaining AZ, CO, ME, and NC but losing AL unless Jared Fogle is the Republican again.

The pessimist in me says the Dems will net 2 seats. Which is the silver lining if Biden is the president - he'll be able to negotiate with the Republican senators more.

Impeach, yeah. But removal requires 67 votes in the Senate.

I remember hearing the 'anonymous sources' complain how Trump treats the senate, particularly his Republican allies. And then they award him and give him what they want. Of course Trump is going to keep on acting like Congress is there to do his bidding, they has shown they will let them do whatever he wants.

https://www.macleans.ca/opinion/america-in-2020-king-george-gets-his-revenge/

The revenge of King George III took 244 years, but it is here. His rebellious colonies have abandoned their revolutionary ideas of republicanism and come back to embrace an authoritarian monarchy.

That this revenge should be visited on the United States by Donald Trump is perhaps just. He and King George share many things in common. They both tried to hide their German ancestry. Both married foreigners. Both disappointed in their children. Both slightly mad.

Regardless, the vengeance is done. The GOP may have wielded the knife, but the public supported it with their apathy. No one is marching in the streets. No one is protesting on Capital Hill.

Americans have turned their back on an idea that seemed to have worked for centuries. But, for the ironically named Republican Party and its supporters, those revolutionary republican ideals were evidently no longer of use. They now accept the United States must be solely led by only one branch: an authoritarian, powerful, unencumbered leader. King George would have agreed with this outcome entirely.

The problem with the Trump impeachment comes down the poll that showed 68% was more confident in the Economy, 80%+ more confident in the military etc. since 2017.
Whatever Trump is doing is showing results in the numbers and perception of the public if you remove the word 'Trump' (even race relations).

The GOP might yet put someone else in before the 2020 election but for now Trump is how they back these numbers.
And you'd have to be a suicidal political entity to drop a President with an approval rating of nearly 70% on the economy if you don't mention his name.

Not to mention, Schiff in all his wisdom has already questioned the 'legitimacy' of the 2020 election.
Is he really that stupid to not realize it'll backfire when the Democrats actually win?

Remember when 'Fake News' was a term used 'AGAINST' Trump that he flipped in the most devastating way possible?

After the 'STRATEGY' of the centrist Democrats the Iowa poll probably showed a Bernie blowout along with a Yang surge.
Because if you followed Yang lately it has become pretty clear that by November 2020 the ticket would be ANDREW/DAVE or YANG/CHAPPELE 2020.
Dave Chapelle has been campaigning for the Yang Gang all month.

Listened to NYT's yesterday Daily podcast. It was a really good self aware post mortem on 2016. They criticize their coverage of Sanders and Clinton and really reflect. They admit that journalism has flaws. This is why I'm subscribed to NYT and not WaPo any longer. NYT has self awareness to reflect. Does it have biases? Absolutely. But you won't find a better publication in America has the same propensity to self reflect and improve. Still the best paper in America.

I stan.
