Let's ask ourselves, do you want a president who succumbs to the system, or do you want someone who has no ego and is willing to down in flames fighting for what's right?

The entire system is burning down in front of our eyes, and we need someone with conviction to build it back up brick by brick.

make it last for 1000 years!

So which US states are shaping up to get fucked and which are handling things best?

So which US states are shaping up to get fucked and which are handling things best?

New York seems pretty fucked. Florida and Louisiana seems to explode in cases. California is about to hit hard.

Rural states like Nabraska and Montana probabaly are the safest states to ride this out.

I figured one of the red states was going to be a topper. Judging from news and media and no effective response.

I imagine rural areas would have a slower spread and it'd be easier to hunker down, but thinking about rural hospitals having to deal with a serious outbreak is very not good.

There are complicating factors though Benji since not all states are treating it equally, population density varies and is certainly a factor in spread. Rural states will be real slow indeed as Mandark implies.
Like from what I've heard it seems like Florida is shaping up to be a future bomb. But that is based off what I read about what is going on in the States.

Rural is tough. Hospitals can be far from home and they are usually ill equipped to really handle the really serious shit, but if the big hospitals are full... nobody to send people to.

People giving Cuomo props on this is crazy. That guy made it worse by refusing to shut down NYC for like an additional 3 or 4 days.

I live in Nebraska and our governor here actually took it fairly seriously before it got out of hand (surprisingly) but our businesses sort of took the lead. Not having an international airport helps, I think, but most of the state really doesn’t live in rural areas, over half the population is within 50-60 miles of Omaha.

I still have some concerns about regular people not taking it seriously here.

saw this morning that they were thinking about trying to avoid need to get house involved via unanimous senate vote, but likely won't happen due worry Rand Paul blocks. what a fucking hero.  :brain

urban v rural divide in US is sad and interesting. rural areas will likely be the last hit while also containing most of the people that don't believe this is a big deal. kind of reminds me of what happens with hurricanes down here.

ways away, but assuming we get through this pandemic relatively ok will they totally ignore the next (likely more lethal) outbreak that comes along? even though they may deal with less of an interruption in day-to-day life, will they resent that they seemingly have to bail out the coastal elites again?

So which US states are shaping up to get fucked and which are handling things best?

the US gulf coast is shaping up to get fucked.

to be fair, wasn't NYC delay more on de Blasio? or is that already revisionism?

Yea, Louisiana seems the likeliest candidate to be disproportionately affected. It's always one of the states that is at the bottom of nearly every metric when comparing states.

RALPH DROLLINGER, a minister who leads a weekly Bible study group for President Donald Trump’s cabinet, released a new interpretation of the coronavirus pandemic this week, arguing that the crisis represents an act of God’s judgment.

The coronavirus, Drollinger argues in two blog posts and a rambling Bible study guide published in the past few days, is a form of God’s wrath upon nations, but not one as severe as the floods described in the Old Testament or the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

“Relative to the coronavirus pandemic crisis, this is not God’s abandonment wrath nor His cataclysmic wrath, rather it is sowing and reaping wrath,” wrote Drollinger. “A biblically astute evaluation of the situation strongly suggests that America and other countries of the world are reaping what China has sown due to their leaders’ recklessness and lack of candor and transparency.”

Quote
The Drollinger-led Bible study meets every Wednesday morning with members of Trump’s cabinet, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, and Health Secretary Alex Azar. Carson and Azar, notably, are members of the coronavirus task force guiding the federal government response to the pandemic.

The problem is that those benefits might be higher than some very important people like nurses earn and they might choose not to work.

So Scott, Sasse and Graham defend the jobs of the little income earners and grab a few headlines  :salute

How does this impact the 22 kids I claimed on my census form as an attempt to increase the grant money my town gets?

$600 x 4 weeks= $2400 x 12 months = $28,800

Is Sasse, Scott, and Graham now okay with fight for $15 federal minimum wage?
$15 x 40 hours = $600 per week x 52 weeks = $31,200

I have a question about your wacky political system. If Biden drops out  due to these allegations lobbed at him, is it possible for #Klobmentum to return and basically say: I never really meant to drop out?

Anyone could do that for any reason. It'd be up to the voters to vote for them in the primaries.

At the Convention, the Democrats would simply vote to release the Biden delegates who could then vote for Amy* to give her the necessary majority** as there aren't enough left to decide the nominee otherwise. (Or perhaps they would simply vote as bound, have no majority in the first round which automatically releases the delegates and enables the Super Delegates for the second round. Then vote Amy*** as the nominee****.)

I think Amy‘s blizzard joke will kill at the convention securing her the nomination.
