God, I can't even conceive of being an adult who literally throws away a child's hot lunch because they couldn't afford it. How the fuck do you rationalize that being a reasonable thing to do?

https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/04/07/well/family/new-mexico-outlaws-school-lunch-shaming.htmlNew Mexico Outlaws School Lunch Shaming[/url]

"Lunch shaming?" Sounds like a dumb touchy-feely SJW neologi...

Quote
What is “lunch shaming?” It happens when a child can’t pay a school lunch bill.

In Alabama, a child short on funds was stamped on the arm with “I Need Lunch Money.” In some schools, children are forced to clean cafeteria tables in front of their peers to pay the debt. Other schools require cafeteria workers to take a child’s hot food and throw it in the trash if he doesn’t have the money to pay for it.

 :kobeyuck :kobeyuck :kobeyuck

Can't click right now but why do I have a feeling this practice is being enforced more in blacker rural and urban areas of Alabama than whiter rural areas.

So China sending 150k troops to North Korea. Likely they're worried that if the US invades they'll put a base in North Korea, so they might just take NK out themselves and annex it. I know I would if I was China. Ain't no one gonna stop them annexing North Korea.

Of course, they're going to have a huge humanitarian issue on their hands if they do, but that might be better than having a US presence literally next door.

China is already fronting a bill to keep NK ticking. Their hope is probably that rebuilding N Korea would pay off eventually rather than decades of aide.

Holy shit!

That's probably the best-possible scenario, but I think it's more about reinforcing their own border since Li'l Kim has overplayed his hand by taunting the most emotionally manipulable POTUS since Andrew Jackson.

read a reddit comment that explained how this happens when ever there is a disruptive event in NK and generally its just to enforce the border from fleeing koreans.

really? Still seems like a lot of people for border patrol. Of course, it's not like China has a shortage of military men. I just figured with Trumpo in power the possibility China wouldn't want to take the chance of a US presence being so close. But maybe I'm just wrong.

China probably realizes that taking on the humanitarian disaster that is North Korea and integrating it is way worse of an idea than chancing Trump trying to unite the peninsula which will likely kill millions of Koreans in the process and put U.S. troops on arguably the best border China could want them on if there has to be U.S. troops on a direct border. (It's got terrible winters and awful terrain, any invasion has to go through major urban areas to maintain supply lines and would be surrounded on all sides by China, etc.)

Speaking of Trump and the China-North Korean border. China once built like a twenty foot high twenty mile long fence along their border with North Korea. IIRC, they then realized it was easier to have NK build shit on their side and just shoot anyone who tries to get over it to the Yalu and convinced them to build one instead. I think now there's just like a fence in some parts and it's probably more to try and keep people from dying in the river when it ices over.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just remove fat boy, install a puppet, and go from there? A competent government there would work wonders and end the potential threat of US bases creeping up.

Then again if shit hits the fan I'd imagine China would do everything in its power to ensure no US bases go up.

Omg. Wolf Blitzer, son of Holocaust survivors, directly tries to lead Sean to apologize to Jews. You'll never guess what happens next.

That wasn't even a softball pitch, Wolf put the ball up on a T and Spicer still couldn't hit it.

This, but if you really, really, REALLY have to apologize, do it in the vaguest, most mealy-mouthed way possibly.

See Trump's "I'm sorry that I used those words in that tape, but it was really just locker room talk, not a big deal."

He also used "quantify" instead "qualify" – which is ironic because Spicer is not qualified for the job.

Pretty sure gaslighting is the larger policy core. That way they'll never have to be in a position to apologize or be more aggressive, because we'll all be questioning which level of reality we're on.

If my napkin math is right, the Democrats will get into spitting distance for the Kansas seat tonight and might take it depending on which range Sedgwick falls on the average turnout percentage that trended throughout tonight.

Republican votes are roughly 39% of their November numbers(rough math). Democratic votes roughly 68%. Interesting in its own right.

If it is at the upper echelon of the turnout spread in Sedgwick, the gap could theoretically be made up. But it is a long shot. If it plays out like Harvey, Sedgwick will narrowly go to Thompson but he will lose by the current margin basically. If it plays out like Harper, Thompson wins.

EDIT: As I finish typing that they call it for Estes lol. Still, interesting little case study going on in how motivated voters may be right now. I am not sure what the normal drop off is from presidential to special elections, but maintaining roughly 68% of your turnout for a special election for Dems has to be encouraging. Especially when the opposition turnout dropped over 60% in most counties.
