Why do they keep calling Scaramucci, why why why

https://twitter.com/KasieDC/status/972977297518137346

What trump has in common with Sinatra is, they were both guys who wanted to be embedded in powerful groups (government for Trump, mafia for Sinatra), and the people in those groups treated them as a joke, like a sick little mascot while they continued committing their crimes against the public.

I actually am not sure that I hate that idea. Pompeo, as a military general is a wildly inappropriate pick, but Tillerson  was even farther out his depth, from what I can tell.

Edit: of course, Tilly Tilly was maybe the only person in the admin willing to criticize Russia.

Idk, Pompeo has often appeared like a Trump sycophant(playing up denials about Russian hacking the DNC until faced under oath to admit otherwise in testimony, questions within the CIA that he couldn’t be trusted to put his duties above presidential loyalty, the fact he’s a racist tea party Republican from Kansas) and Haspel is just a real piece of shit.

Quote
At the end of a briefing on March 22, Trump reportedly asked everyone to leave the room except director of national intelligence Daniel Coats and CIA director Mike Pompeo. According to the Washington Post, Trump then asked Coats if he could intervene to get Comey to back off from investigating Flynn as part of the FBI’s Russia probe.

Quote
Haspel ran a "black site" CIA prison located in Thailand in 2002.[6][7] The site was codenamed "Cat’s Eye" and held suspected al Qaeda members Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri and Abu Zubaydah for a time. The Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA torture specifies that during their detention at the site they were waterboarded and interrogated using no longer authorized methods.[8][9] Declassified CIA cables specify that Zubaydah was waterboarded 83 times in a month, was sleep deprived, kept in a "large box", had his head slammed against a wall and he lost his left eye. Zubaydah was deemed, by the CIA interrogators, to not be in possession of any useful intelligence (Interrogation of Abu Zubaydah).[10]

Haspel later was the chief of staff to Jose Rodriguez, who headed the CIA's Counterterrorism Center. In his memoir, Rodriguez wrote that Haspel had "drafted a cable" in 2005 ordering the destruction of dozens of videotapes made at the black site in Thailand.[9]

I didn’t like Tillerson’s arrogant downsizing bullshit but he at least seemed to be operating somewhat competently and uncompromisingly toward Trump. Pompeo I guess we’ll see. But the theme in Trump’s firings and hirings seem to share the trait of putting more enablers and loyalists around him and getting rid of the people that frustrate him.

Trump ousts Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, will replace him with CIA Director Mike Pompeo - The Washington Post

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-ousts-tillerson-will-replace-him-as-secretary-of-state-with-cia-chief-pompeo/2018/03/13/30f34eea-26ba-11e8-b79d-f3d931db7f68_story.html?utm_term=.ef555d5c5620

This was last night:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/tillerson-says-ex-spys-poisoning-in-uk-clearly-came-from-russia-vows-it-will-trigger-a-response/2018/03/12/b2717dd8-2648-11e8-a227-fd2b009466bc_story.html?utm_term=.acf01e5c1369

I couldn’t help wondering the same thing but the Post does note this decision was seemingly made last week and is now just being announced. Though I guess timing of the announcement and Tillerson making the comment the way he did does invoke some slight chin scratching.

Yeah, I mean it's evident this was in the schedule for this week to have him step down, but it's a hell of a thing for him to say the night before.

Well, that definitely adds to the idea that even if planned and inevitable, this announcement schedule was seemingly ad hoc, spur of the moment, and Trump wants it known he was being fired(and in typical Trump fashion can’t look the person in the eye). This is definitely going to invite the obvious optics of how this is going to be perceived by many, even if completely coincidental.

Edit: for whatever reason I can’t get the tweet to embed. Just an official release from Tillerson about how they were unaware, not contacted, given no reason, and that Tillerson was not seeking an exit.

ACLU lawyer Dale Ho cross-examined Jesse Richman, a witness for Kobach, about the methodology in a controversial study Richman produced showing significant rates of non-citizen voting. In the study, Richman coded certain respondents who had “foreign”-sounding names, for weighting purposes.

After going over some of the names Richman coded as foreign — two respondents with the last name Lopez were coded as foreign, and three Lopezes were not — Ho asked Richman how he would code the name “Carlos Murguia.” Richman said he’d probably code the name as “foreign.” Ho pointed out that Murguia is a federal judge in the same courthouse in which the trial is taking place. Richman admitted he wasn’t aware of that.

I just saw the following rumor about Tillerson's firing, it sound logical enough.

Quote
I think Tillerson was sent to Kenya and when they showed him BOs birth certificate and proof that BOs is from Kenya he refused to be the one to bring this to light and pretended to get sick and cut the trip short. Trump had no choose but to replace him with someone who has balls to get the job done.

TBH Zimmerman's behavior doesn't seem to be some outlier of the organization. I mean this is a place that was caught photoshopping Democrats and liberals over the course of several years, went from Seth Rich to weeks of Uranium One, got caught literally re-printing GOP memos as "news research" after the GOP memos uncovered contained the same exact typos that Fox didn't even bother to correct when they passed them off as their own work, and was founded by a guy who concocted the idea of Fox News while working for the Nixon administration as a way to leverage the growing power of TV to basically serve as self-serving partisan propaganda with plausible deniability.

One interesting thing I came to find out about Fox News during that Seth Rich period is that they don't have a Standards and Practices division. It is apparently just rolled into the duties of a handful of people in their broader legal department. Apparently most news organizations(and by that I mean every other broadcast news channel) employ a division of people that comprises that Standards and Practices department. With various department ombudsmen, editors, and employees vetting the organization's reporting relative to their standards. Not Fox.
