Yes, but in olden times they got shipped off to old folk's homes where people didn't have to see or hear them, but now they get Twitter.

The least plausible part of the whole QAnon conspiracy theory is that Trump has a bunch of accomplishments that he's not bragging about.

When Kevin Carwile arrived to run the Justice Department’s death penalty unit in 2010, he had never prosecuted or sat through an entire capital punishment case. He was moved into the job after overseeing the gangs unit, and some prosecutors worried he lacked the expertise to steer the division.

Now Mr. Carwile has been removed from his post after The New York Times inquired about a series of grievances against him, including complaints that he promoted gender bias and a “sexualized environment.” He fostered a culture of favoritism and sexism, according to court records, internal documents and interviews with more than a half-dozen current and former employees. In one episode, his deputy groped an administrative assistant at a bar in view of their colleagues, according to some who were present. Mr. Carwile asked the witnesses to keep it secret, one said.

Employees of the unit, the capital case section, complained about the issues to Justice Department officials, the inspector general and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission at least 12 times.
So you're saying "some prosecutors" were right?

he's right, though he should have said "especially" in regards to the intelligence committees

congressional oversight and investigation has long been a joke, and it's only gotten infinitely worse since 9/11 and "national security" presumptions took hold

even the partisan witchhunts headed nowhere take so long because of the executive branch's presumption to deny things even exist for months to years before admitting they exist but denying access to everything rather than comply

to use the Hillary e-mails as an example, State stonewalled for nearly two years before finally admitting they essentially couldn't comply in the first place...the private e-mail server reveal could have happened in early 2014 rather than mid-2015...Gowdy would have had much greater trouble keeping the Benghazi committee open through all of 2016 without the ability to bring back Blumenthal and Hillary in fall 2015 over the e-mails if he (and the media) had them when his committee opened in 2014 and they were the same exact nothing (note for Jack: I'm not blaming Clinton, she was an unintended victim of State's policy...also I used her e-mails as a popular example due to their prominence thanks to Seth Rich's sleuthing, Bush-era departments were doing this same kind of thing, I have to assume so are Trump's)

apologies if any of those dates are off, i didn't check them, and the example is more important than the factual content

the same thing happens at the state level, even when you have an anarchist processing FOIA requests

You have to ask yourself.

- How did the US not see world shifting events like ISIS taking over Iraq, Putin annexing the Crimea and installing missiles in Kalingrad coming
- Why did it seem like the Russians were one step ahead of the US when it came to foreign policy during Obama's tenure
- How did the Russians know the US had 'stepped out of bounds' regarding their UN Libya mandate before news broke that Gadaffi was dead

Snowden, Manning, Clinton, it was all the sneaky fucking Russians.

Hack the elderly secretary of state who has her e-mails printed by her aide who uses the same Dropbox or whatever as her pedophile husband.
And more or less everyone in the intelligence services was aware of this.

So what do they do?
They keep running the candidate that polls 50/50 with Donald Fucking Trump, coughs out her lungs every speech and seemingly drops dead on 9/11.

And people are still surprised of the outcome?

I’m more surprised she is still the Republican scapegoat even when she is not shit talking.

There was some survey done that basically broke down the Republican coalition. And basically the one thing that unified sects that are otherwise often at odds, like the Rand Paul libertarians, the moderate wing, and the hardcore nationalists, was a collective hate of Hillary. To be fair I would argue that whoever the right ends up setting their sights on as the next villain will unify those branches as well(though unlikely to the extent Hillary's decades of built up right-wing and left-wing applied toxicity did), since that seems to be the collective thread shared amongst the party's media allies. So I suspect we will hear about Hillary up until the Democratic Primaries and probably deep into this years elections.

As a sidenote, it does make me chuckle a bit when I hear people say that the Dems absolutely can't win around a collective strategy of anti-Trumpism and need to stop and abandon it for a strong, concise, unifying set of messages and platforms instead. Not that I want them to embrace a nothin but anti-Trumpism platform, just saying.

So what do they do?

Who is the "they" in this sentence?
Everyone in the United States who supported Clinton and wasn't part of the Trump campaign.

Including:
All of the government
All of the Democratic party
All of the mainstream librul media(TM) and celebrities

Basically everyone who didn't want to see President Trump becoming a reality.
Instead of: "Well it doesn't matter if she's dead or alive. Hacked to death by a drunk Michael Flynn or hacked by the Russians. Chased on the debate stage by Trump, seemingly scared of this lunatic who threatens to lock her up. She's still our yas queen!!!"

Seriously Jack, what was the outcome Clinton supporters expected after the Hollywood Access tape and the rumors he worked together with/for the Russians didn't slay Donald Trump?

We know Hilary camp wanted Trump and encouraged their media pals to play up Trump in the RNC primaries. Something about that should have told the DNC that they themselves had no confidence in Hilary's ability to win.

Donald Trump destroying Jeb Bush is one of the most saddest events ever in politics.
Not only did Trump have to trash the guy, he also had to bring down his mother.

Poor Jeb.

"Two days ago, [Bush] said he would take his pants off and moon everybody"

What the fuck Trump.

I wonder who on team Clinton came up with that genius play and why him/her wasn't send to Elon's Mars base to prevent this from ever happening again.

Sometimes I'm glad that Clinton didn't win, because that dumpster tier campaign staff would've ran things.

Basically their plan was to push pied piper candidates like Carson, Cruz and Trump.

Its the vast liberal media conspiracy I am taking issue with. The close to a decent point was the Clinton campaign under-estimating the strength of a Trump general run relative to their own. To be fair though, so did everyone else, including Trump. And frankly because we can't run the counter-factual through a magical alternative history election machine, Cruz or Bush may have been tougher general challengers. In the same way Bernie bros, Biden fans, or Hillary haters swear some other person would of been better positioned in a general election to fight Trump.

But before any of you go any further in this revisionist stuff(and hopefully stop yet another dumb election discussion), keep in mind again this was an election swung by 75,000 votes between three states. Where the loser won the popular vote by 3 million. The strongest argument to me is basically that the Clinton campaign failed to correctly identify the weak points in their electoral coalition. And that was the knife that was the real killshot on their end.

The thing this time around is that Hillary is just selling books by shit talking while is expected that Trump do some work outside picking toothless or incredibly stupid fights. Stuff like the omnibus make it clear that Trump and the GOP are not able to function without some antagonist force against them that has an actual face than just saying “Deep State” or “Aliens”, and Hillary is probably getting out of everybody minds as long she doesn’t return to politics.

Eh, isn't that what typically happens? In 2003/2004, Bush allies and the rightwing media wanted Howard Dean to win; I still remember that National Review cover, pleading with liberals to nominate him. In 2012, the Obama camp and democrats spent a whole lot of time magnifying the crazy coming from Michelle Bachman and others. Hillary and democrats egging on Trump during the primaries seemed to me like a continuation of that tradition of identifying who you think is the easiest opponent and boosting them.

This is what everyone wanted. The entire left leaning internet threw a party when Trump clinched the nomination.

Nope. A tiny minority actually perceived the threat he represented, even if they mistakenly hoped his antics were just electoral strategy.

At a London bar in May 2016, after numerous drinks, Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos bragged to an Australian diplomat the Russians had obtained damaging information on Hillary Clinton. The diplomat reported the conversation to American officials, which prompted the FBI to launch their investigation of the Trump campaign and its connections to Russia.

On Thursday at a Chicago nightclub, Papadopoulos had some drinks and, in a conversation with a new acquaintance, allegedly made new and explosive claims about Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Papadopoulos, according to this new acquaintance, said that Sessions was well aware of the contact between Papadopoulos and Joseph Mifsud, an academic from Malta with high-level connections in Russia. Papadopoulos’ indictment revealed that Mifsud had told Papadopoulos that the Russians had “‘dirt’ on then-candidate Hillary Clinton in the form of ‘thousands of emails.'”

Jason Wilson, a computer engineer who lives in Chicago, told ThinkProgress that Papadopoulos said during their conversation that “Sessions encouraged me” to find out anything he could about the hacked Hillary Clinton emails that Mifsud had mentioned.

Soho, money laundering, the Trump foundation, refusing to divest business interests, rampant cronyism, sketchy deals/relations involving corrupt officials in India, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and the UAE... It's almost like Trump and Kushner are businessmen with a history of acting with disregard for personal ethics or morals, finding themselves traveling outside the bounds of norms and laws in order to secure financing and wealth opportunities due in part to ongoing mismanagement of their businesses.   :huh

This I believe is the real reason for the 4 day school week.

God, why would anyone want to live in a state like that? It’s insane.

We know Hilary camp wanted Trump and encouraged their media pals to play up Trump in the RNC primaries. Something about that should have told the DNC that they themselves had no confidence in Hilary's ability to win.

Yes, you generally want the easier fight unless you're highly competitive. The easier fight is the better winning strategy.

Which they thought they were getting and helped arrange.

I just like pointing out this hubris/weakness in light of the blaming Russia narrative.Plus, it reveals who hasn't' read any wikileaks.

Now, according to four sources close to the White House, Trump is discussing ways to escalate his Twitter attacks on Amazon to further damage the company. “He’s off the hook on this. It’s war,” one source told me. “He gets obsessed with something, and now he’s obsessed with Bezos,” said another source. “Trump is like, how can I fuck with him?”

Making people pay more for stuff on Amazon would probably do more to hurt the GOP in the mid-terms than anything else that Trump has done.
