Don Blankenship getting wrecked in West Virginia, so that's good.

While I would love to see him win the nomination only to get torched in the general, having him get blasted in the primary is pretty nice, too.

Money?? In my politics??

Reads like Cohen is a swamp. Not collusion. Just same old same old.

If I’m a foreign government giving you half a million dollars to illegally pay women you slept with to keep them out of the news in the run up to an election, and that’s not collusion, then nothing is.

Should probably be skeptical that the Russian money is directly tied to Stormy Daniels.

Still, imagine being Cohen and giving the green light to those payments in 2017 when you had to expect the heat to be on. The mix of stupidity and chutzpah is pretty impressive. The guy was never sweating being caught.

Also included in these suspicious financial transactions are four payments in late 2017 and early 2018 totaling $399,920 made by global pharmaceutical giant Novartis directly to Essential in four separate transactions of $99,980 each (just  below $100,000). Following  these  payments, reports surfaced that Mr. Trump took a dinner meeting with the incoming CEO of Novartis before Mr. Trump’s speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in late January 2018.

Huh.

It's almost like this narcissist without any record of public service in his life, that has ranted for decades about how he sees the world through a zero sum transactional prism, that just got done openly paying back his largest donor by giving him his religious fever dream of moving the Israeli embassy at the expense of Middle East stability, may have done the shocking thing no one could of seen coming and used his political position to leverage a transactional self-enriching scheme through his lawyer that cut his teeth after graduating from the worst law school in the country by being a go between figure in a money laundering and insurance racket tied to oligarchs and the Russian mob.

Honestly, whenever anyone has made assumptions about Trump that were the worst possible assumptions based on the public circumstances, they’ve pretty much always been confirmed.

It's kinda irreverent whether Russia actually did pay them for that reason.

That they happened at all is bad news bears.

It is certainly possible that Trump owns a lot of property that is highly leveraged and relatively little liquid assets.

There was a story in the WaPo about how he's been using cash purchases for real estate rather than debt financing, which is unusual and raises some questions.

Most of the infrastructure is part of the development. In fact that's the whole point of the deal, to roll back breakout time from 3 months to over a year.

For what it's worth, the arms control people I was reading back when this was negotiated all thought that "breakout" was a poor way of thinking about the deal that had accidentally caught on to be the primary/only way that reporters explained it.

Short version is that Iran would be much, much more likely to try to start a weapons program in secret and only reveal it when they had a couple bombs than to kick out inspectors and use those facilities. So that potential decision relies much more on political considerations and the odds of being caught than a few months difference in development time. Hence those experts seeing the really intrusive verification provisions as a coup for the US.

The whole idea of being able to bribe him for like $200K is unusual if he’s a billionaire. If I was a billionaire, what the fuck do I care about $200K, really? That would be like being able to bribe me today for $500. I’m definitely not committing crimes at work for you for $500.

That said the shit certainly looks like a bribe.

But if he owns these places outright and bought them with cash, he should be able to borrow against them. Actually, using his own properties as collateral would be how you get the normal banks to lend to you again.

Something about the whole situation doesn’t make sense, and the idea that those properties he owns aren’t “his” properties because they are being used to launder money makes some sense.

A little history - when Candace originally announced her creepy snitch on a friend reputation tracker website, under the guise of anti-bullying, Zoe Quinn immediately went on the attack, as it threatened the anti-bullying business model she was attempting to set up. As a result, in a weird enemy of my enemy type deal, Candace got in with the GG crowd and a year later started red-pilling the shit out of anything that moves.

Cut to today, and Candace has Kanye and Trump in her pocket. Gamergate effectively catapulted a female POC to a whitehouse meeting, whilst the antis managed to collectively crap up doublefine, Mirrors Edge 2, finally tip Phil Fish over the edge and put forward Brianna Wu as Jack Remmington's the Democrat's next hope.

So... GG won? Good job, shitlords.

Their release, which came after Pompeo met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, coincided with additional talks about a planned summit between Trump and Kim.

This entire post is distinguished mentally-challenged. The guy has lied his way to the White House, he is probably richer than he has ever been right now, and yet you still think he's stupid for what he does? He knows his base, and he knows what works. Why would he change? He has CNN covering him 24/7.

And yeah the mainstream news outlets are practically fake at this point. It's all bullshit. They don't give a fuck about giving you real news, it's all about money.

There doesn't have to be a benefit. As long as he's is fucking with people, that's all they care about.

The gain is this:

-Obama actually put the press on trial and undid press protections and attacked whistleblowers.
-Trump insults the press on twitter

Reaction towards Trump is 100x than what it was for the actions Obama took. End result: disgust for the press by the public. He doesn't need to take away credentials if the press takes away its own social credential.

Also, pls no 4d chess takes. I don't think Trump is trying to do that. I think he's trying to trick the press into reporting a good economy by baiting them with insults about how they're not talking about the economy. He's done that sort of thing before.

The economy is honestly not THAT good.

It’s doing fine. Wage growth still sucks, so the average person isn’t really doing any better this year than last, and there are near-record deficits.

With near record deficits, theoretically it SHOULD be booming, but it’s not.

Yeah, I'm sure the right is just really pissed at how Obama treated whistleblowers and are totally doing this because of a set of morally justified grievances, not just continuing to blindly buy into these self-serving anti-democratic attacks on non-rightwing press to galvanize their base and condition them to rationalize away any scrutiny, legitimate or not, that has roots going back to the Nixon administration and really started gaining steam during the early days of Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. I mean just look at this unwavering consistency in terms of genuine concern and advocacy for the fair treatment of whistleblowers:

When you call Trump stupid like the media does he doubles down on the stupidity. Trump is like the abyss in the all too famous Nietzsche quote "if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."  Only that the abyss here is stupidity, and Trump is staring right back at us.

When he doubles down he just shows you how fucking stupid most Americans are. That includes the talking heads on network television. And he definitely knows this, he knows how dumb people in America are. He also does not believe that any of his actions will have consequences, because they never did since the day he was born.

I think we can call him stupid when he goes to fucking jail and/or his empire crumbles and/or he gets fucking impeached. Until then he is playing 4d chess.

David Miller, a white 54-year-old Ohio voter at a polling place in Cudell Recreation Center in Cleveland, pulled a Republican primary ballot Tuesday for the first time he could remember to vote in the governor’s race. Like many other voters, he felt he had been left behind.

“I mainly was a mainstream Democrat,” he said, before describing how that started to change before the 2016 election. “Every time I turned on the TV, there’s a Democrat calling me a racist and I just got tired of it.”
