CNN is so trash, they're like the second hand crack dealer of news organizations.
“I think that journalists have taken it personally,” the comedian said. “They are personally wounded and offended by this man. He baits them, and they dive in. What he’s done well, I thought, is appeal to their own narcissism, to their own ego. … They say, ‘We are noble, we are honorable, how dare you, sir!’ And they take it personally.”
Amanpour pushed back against Stewart’s criticism and said journalists react to Trump’s “fake news” and “enemy of the people” taunts because it’s difficult “to be dispassionate” when the words coming at them from the White House are so “aggressive.”
Stewart then reminded her that journalists aren’t the only group in the U.S. suffering under the Trump administration.
“Think of the communities of color, think of Muslims, think of the black community,” he said. “When journalists rise to this outrage of ‘How dare you say that about us,’ think of the lives that they’ve (minority communities) been leading under this and what they’ve been put under.”

I'm not sure Amanpour totally grasped his point either, and she kinda went right back into it with the whole being outraged for Stormy Daniels part which isn't too different.
Stewart and others are worried because Trump is winning his fight against 'fake news'. A recent poll suggested more people think that the media is dividing the country than Trump is.
Not to mention that they pretty much have to air his official WH statements (like yesterdays migration "speech" which was just a thinly veiled campaign ad).
Before they complained that Trump didn't do press conferences. However, Trump's people weren't very effective speakers on his behalf.
The press could easily derail and interrupt his staff. With Trump that is more diifcult. The journalists talk tough on Twitter but when they're sitting in front of him the vibe changes.
He's pretty good at moderating the question rounds and just tells them to shut-up or sit down if he feels they've been given enough time.
He knows they can't walk out or attack him with the same agressiveness (becuase they have to do their 'job' and losing credentials would be bad for them)
If he's faced with a difficult question he just starts raving about their bad ratings or fake news and it usually turns into a back and forth bickering.
The journalists engage with Trump on his terms which is a losing battle. And Trump has pretty much always (ab)used te press to spread his message so he knows exactly which buttons to press.
