Didn't the first few years of Obama trigger the creation of the Tea Party? Are those same people going to rise up again?

You know how I'm always "the GOP won over white voters by being racist" and you're all "nah, people just wanted efficient and responsible government?"

A better comp for Buttgeig would be Howard Dean. He also had a pretty significant wave of good polls around a similar time and then lost most of that momentum when it came time to vote. That's why his 3rd place finish was viewed as so devastating even though he wasn't a national candidate.

That was my overall point about the tea party, but you're conflating time periods here. Reagan Republicans were not the same as tea party ppl. Many of them had a previous voting history of Reform party or Libertarian party preferences.

Southern Strategy talk is just a way for democrats to deflect criticism that they were the stewards for the South and Rust Belt cities that were stagnant or quickly eroding for decades post 50s. Decades of this ineffectual governing and corruption led many to vote Reagan instead. But dems don't want to acknowledge that... they'd rather just blame it on racism.

Weird that this caused southern states to retroactively vote for Strom Thurmond over Harry Truman in 1948.

That's certainly what it seems like, but again I'd expect him to be constantly flipping out in public and not just tweeting insults and insinuations at war heroes and life long career diplomats who are testifying to Congress. I have to think he's actually being sedated or is at least being denied his speed.

The only plausible explanation is that he's had a major health crisis and is on death's door.

I certainly wouldn't want him to die anytime soon. I hope he lives long enough to see it all crashing down, is publicly disgraced along with his entire clan and then shunned by all his former cronies and supporters (who will then claim to never have supported him in the first place).

Yes, the photo is real.

There's two theories:
1. He can't read small print without his glasses he doesn't want to wear in public (he has recently been spotted with glasses in a car)
2. He has dementia or some other neurological disorder and can only remember what to say with notes like these

What is he quoting from?  Some secret transcript?

That's what Sondland said trump responded when he asked him "what the fuck he wants" in regards to ukraine.

hence "vindicated'

*except for the part where it says trump was in the bad mood because "im always in a good mood"

Why is everyone so excited about the Sondland testimony if he testified that Trump straight up told him no quid pro quo?

Because everything else around everything intimates he wanted a quid pro quo.

Why is everyone so excited about the Sondland testimony if he testified that Trump straight up told him no quid pro quo?
Because he said:
- Pence
- Pompeo
- Mulvaney
- Bolton
- Volker

, were all in the loop on Ukraine and knew about Rudy's antics.
And with all the different signals he got he went to Trump directly to ask him what he wanted.
That's when Trump told him: "No quid pro quo"

Where it falls flat though is that Trump nor anyone else on the planet ever(this was actually a question) told him directly the aid was tied to the investigations.
Sondland testified he 'presumed' this was the case based on the information and different signals he got.

The event happened on July 4 and July 5, 2017, after North Korea had tested an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of hitting Alaska. As she and her staff scrambled to draft a statement responding to the test, Haley reportedly used her BlackBerry 10 to trade comments over the OpenNet, a State Department network for communicating sensitive, but not classified, information.

“Can’t find my password,” she wrote on July 5. Other messages instructed staff to make changes to the preliminary statement versions they had drafted.
