That Bernie ad is disgusting.

Why, a good portion of that voice over is from Obama endorsing Sanders for the Senate.

Because it's using Obama - who hasn't endorsed anyone yet  for president - as a pawn. It's a tactic that turns me off. I get it, and I know why they're going that route. Still doesn't mean I have to like it. It's a way to manipulate voters into thinking it's an endorsement from Obama for president, just in the same way Bloomberg used Obama for his ads.

All this over an impotent war criminal deporter in chief.

Fair enough.

Michael Bloomberg tearing up during his concession speech :rofl :rofl :rofl

Guess he's sad about that billion he flushed down the drain!

Hardly, he stands to lose a lot more than that to a Sanders presidency, why not light it on fire to help prevent that from happening.

plus biden mocking the controversy isn't really the best way to go about it
Quote
On Wednesday, former vice president Joe Biden stared straight into a camera and promised his supporters something: He’ll do better. He gets that his touchy-feely ways have made some women uncomfortable, and in the #MeToo era, that’s not acceptable.

But two days later, there are real questions about whether Biden gets it. While addressing union workers Friday, he made two jokes that seemed to belittle the women who accused him of touching them in uncomfortable and inappropriate ways.

Shortly after getting onstage Friday, Biden hugged International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers President Lonnie Stephenson, then said, “I just want you to know I had permission to hug Lonnie.” The crowd laughed; Biden glowed.

Biden made the same joke a second time, this time using one of the children he invited onstage.

“You guys can sit on the edge. I don’t want you to have to stand,” he said, pulling a boy closer to him. “By the way, he gave me permission to touch him,” he said of the boy.

I'd be surprised this wasn't the end of it or how someone who has done this stuff openly can be become president but after Donald Trump I'm really not. Also hilarious to see Democratics coalesce around a candidate who has as much baggage as Biden while 4 years ago guilt tripping Republicans about how they can vote for a man with sexual abuse allegations :lol

It's all about winning, not ideals.

Maybe you guys are right. Maybe my problem is with humanity and not Americans and I'm treating my utter disdain and contempt for America with rose tints glasses for non-American places.

I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE. :stop

The debates will be lit.

Trump will give Hunter Biden's stripper fling a front row seat with her baby wearing a 'Where's Hunter?' T-Shirt and tell her it's better she was denied access to the family because Biden would molest the baby.
Next to her is the Ukrainian prosecutor Biden got fired and Rudy G.
With Trump's recent 'nice guy' spiel people have forgotten how nasty he was against Hillary to the point that she had a seizure on 9/11.
He put all Bills accusers on the front row when he debated her. Who the hell does that  :lol

Biden will have to endure non stop attacks until November soon and he can't even take a town hall question from an undecided voter without freaking out.

Jeb Bush famously said: "Donald, you can't bully your way to the Presidency"

Get ready for Ben Carson and a bunch of 'conservative' doctors diagnosing Joe Biden's dementia in a White House press conference.
The GOP is going to dump Biden in a trash compacter and he has none of the base, influence, network, money and power the Clintons had.

Bad argument to make given Mini spent like 200-300m on ads and could spent 700m more just on extending his influence. Biden also has the ok of the Clinton's and the Obama's. He has very tight connections and many powerful people backing him.

I think it's basically "a lot of voters are not hyper connected to  political bubbles and vote the way they do for a variety of reasons, some small and some big, some we may find irrational or some we may not understand. It's pointless and unhelpful to try to analyse them through the lens of hyperpartisan, hyperconnected narratives."

The point Felix is making is that the Bernie bro rhetoric being divisive or whatever is a lot of internet Twitter reddit bullshit. The majority of voters are like shostas dad or fillers abuela, they aren't really taking all this extremely online discourse into account. They probably do take some of the FUD written about Bernie's base or Bernie seriously though.
"Who's this man shouting on the TV baby I can't hear a goddamn thing he says"
"I don't know, he's awfully loud though and keeps waving his hands around"
"Oh look that's Bloomberg and that nasty Indian lady Trump hates so much"
"No no I think that's Joe Biden"
"Oh yeah Joe. He was with Obama right?"
"I think so dear"
"I'm certainly voting for him any friend of Obama is a friend of mine we gotta teach all those young boys that voted for Trump a lesson"

I actually think Biden could win the election. As was often said, Clinton could have won with a few ten thousands of votes shifted around. And while it's complete baloney, a return to "normalcy" might actually be a convincing mellow argument. It's hard to gauge how fed up people are with Trump and if it will depress some voters of his.

I'm not confident, tho.

A few problems are in the way of a Biden presidency:

1. Trump's base seemingly has grown against all odds. Many Never Trumpers that voted for Hillary or didn't vote have coalesced behind his power.

2. He's grown with demographics that previously Republicans struggled with. His black approval rating is simply shocking for example.

If his campaign can manage to depress Democratic turn out and and enthusiasm he's gonna win.

Even though I've been a Sanders boy since 2015/2016, Im mentally preparing for Biden to get the nom and to fucking dunked on like a drooling bitch by Trump.

Charisma and balls matters a lot, Biden is usually passionate and angry, but Trump knows how to twist a knife right into someone's balls. Humor usually wins a room of people over, and Trump's best skill is dunking without prejudice or shame.

So, hoping for Bernie still, but I'm planning on living four more years in Trumpland.

And there's a clear reason why Bernie didn't win those states - Pete and Amy dropped out, and Joe got most of their supporters.

There was a clear reason why polls were wrong in 2016 - Comey Letter.

Polls were largely accurate in 2018, outside of a few underpolled Senate races. Generally if there's a big miss, you can point to a reason it happened.

Currently these polls, along with Trump's approval ratings and the state of congressional generic ballot polls, are all data points indicating that either Joe or Bernard would start out as strong favorites against Trump.

I'm close to maxing R No for Prez, so I'm actually invested in this.

But Trump's approval rating grows in spite of massive scandal after scandal. It's now 49%, two points shy of a majority. You are underestimating Republican ability to back a candidate and fall in line and Democrats ability to not do that (see me as an example :doge). Also remember that millions of people didn't vote last election and they could come over on the side of Trump if they feel nothing much has changed.

He's not at 49% except in Rasmussen polls. 538 has him at 43.2%. If he were actually at a 49% average, I wouldn't have a penny in that market.

I'll check his favorability in other polls then.

can confirm, people and places suck all over the world and imo the european affectation for believing they're superior to, and deriding, americans (same goes for australasians, they love to hate) usually betrays a severe lack of awareness of their own country/cultures current and historical shortcomings.

the only way to defeat capitalism is to increase the number of rich blacks. this will turn the whites against capitalism faster than anything else we could dream up. it's the reason we can't have socialized healthcare or anything else, the whites are ok with having a shitty life so long as they think the blacks will have one too! once they see the blacks excelling under capitalism, it's over! ;)

Quote
It’s enough to make me feel, well, despairing: that we had the candidate of a lifetime — someone with the energy, vision, and follow-through to lead the country out of our nightmarish era — and that the media and voters basically outright erased and ignored her.

Pundits will all have their theories; fears over “electability” will likely be their #1 explanation. Don’t tell me this isn’t about sexism. I’ve been around too long for that.

Even just supporting Warren has come with an unbearable amount of misogynist condescension. I’m tired of being told that I’m a single-issue voter because I care about a candidate’s gender, even if it’s not the only thing I care about. I’m over being made to feel as if representation for half the population isn’t a necessary and radical political position. I don’t appreciate being told that I’m either anti-revolution because I didn’t support Bernie Sanders or unrealistic because I won’t vote for Joe Biden. I especially resent the theory being bandied about that Warren somehow “stole” votes from Sanders; it’s nonsense.

Whoever the nominee is, their campaign is going to have to come to terms with the intense misogyny so many female voters have dealt with — and understand that it’s an issue we care deeply about. And their supporters are going to have to let us be sad — depressed, even — that once again we’re going to watch a race to leadership between old white men.

These are candidates who, despite their many admirable qualities, don’t have the same proactive plans for issues that impact women like reproductive rights and maternal mortality and don’t understand the way misogyny is embedded in nearly every aspect of American life.

That said, Democratic women will show up for the nominee. We always do. But I hope that whoever it is will bring some humility and understanding into the coming months.

As for me, I need a minute. Last night, my nine-year-old daughter came over to me because I looked upset. When I told her I was sad because I felt like I would never see a woman be president, she told me, “Well, you’ll see at least one — me.”

I want her to be able to hold on to that optimism because the truth is that I’m fresh out of hope to give her.

In an all-staff call on Wednesday afternoon, Faiz Shakir, Sanders’ campaign manager, said the team now has the clarity it long wanted.

This some street shit. "Clarity"

Sanders gave the  :pitbull to get started.

Get dirty King, practice round: dementia patient.

They have power for a reason — and they’re pretty good at maintaining it, he said. But every time the campaign has faced adversity, he argued, it has risen to the challenge.

Time to see the real Bernie scrap.

Ride or die.
