You’re stupid because I meant it. I like Glen and when this shit gets brought up his language gets violent. But I’m glad you’re still the same sad person looking for dunks here

Also, despite all their weird shit I do assume shost and Glen to be different peeps

He knows I'm not serious, compared to Glen who apparently seems to be whenever his way isn't met.

If Bernie loses the nomination I'm not going to sit here and cry about it for five years like Glen does. I'll be like "ok, whatever. DNC doesn't want my vote." Whereas Glen will wish death on every fucking person if they don't vote D.

But thank you for the concern about Glen's mental health. Maybe he will actually get some blood pressure medicine and anger management lessons.

Hillary lost the most important election in how many years?

By all rights no one should care what she thinks and she should have retired from public life.

But no. She doesn't disappear. She and her fans don't own up to her historic loss. Didn't even step inside Michigan. We never hear from Gore. Presidential candidates that lose generally move on to do something productive. Not Hillary.

Even after 2016 she makes me hate her even more. It's ridiculous.

Can't even muster up the slightest bit of outrage over what was done to her wrt emails. Useless. You guys did Republicans' work for them. Roger Ailes thanks you from hell. Putin thanks you from Moscow.

I didn't care for John Kerry much at all, but I still feel rage when I think of Swiftboating. I never sat back and said shit like, "Herp a derp, Kerry deserved it, should have dropped out and let Dean run!"

The American left is so fucking useless in every way.

I think the race can still change dramatically if Biden struggles in the one on one debate like he has in all the thousands of clips of him appearing to have clear cognitive decline issues. When he's up there having to talk for 2 hours, instead of being able to not speak for 15-30 minutes at a time and then only needing to speak in 90 second soundbites.... :yikes

weird dynamic biden's benefited from is that he seemed to be imploding by himself, so there was relatively little negative campaigning to bring him down, even when he was the clear national frontrunner (Kamala had that moment and her bump faded, Castro tried something and his ratings went down; I think most campaigns decided they didn't want to be seen as going negative)

so he craters, then rebounds, and suddenly everyone's dropped out and all these obvious flaws haven't really gotten the spotlight, except they absolutely will in a 1-on-1 against trump

now that I'm writing it out sounds like the worst possible scenario

There's also the idea that Biden has been decent in this primary's debates. Not outright awful. But maybe that's a case of him just not getting much time and being covered due to the sheer numbers or candidates.

Let's not beat around the bush. Bernie has to rely on Biden doing an awful job at the debate. What if he's decent or average and not awful? So many variables at work here. If Biden is just okay at the debates and is given soft ball questioning he might just coast.

Given that debate is co-sponsored by Latino groups it is my hope that he won't be asked softball on Obama's deportation record. Joe will likely say,"that was Obama not me" but when you're basically saying this will be a virtual third Obama term, that's not exactly the best defense to have.

We will see. Biden seems to do okay when it counts. His South Carolina win speech was very good. His Fox Sunday show interview last week - gaffe aside - was also very good. He appears to do better in one on one situations and with a smaller field, there's potential he will have better performance. That worries me. Do not count Biden out.

at this point we're either relying on some really big event (biden looking just absolutely awful at the debate, a new scandal, he has a literal stroke, etc) or bernie has to win big in michigan (making similar big margins in oh/pa/il likely)

unless I'm missing some other path

The Biden dementia shit is really gross.

Just watch Biden's speech thanking Pete for his endorsement. He's great, eloquent even.

Primarily he seems to trip over his tongue when he tries to say something quick and loud. When he's chill, he's great.

Edit: South Carolina victory speech is also great.

He said we could only re-elect Trump with the aid of a teleprompter. These are more than gaffes.

it's not that biden has full on dementia, it's that he seems to be noticeably slower, lower energy, more prone to being tongue-tied than he was last time he campaigned 8 years ago

this is a problem for two reasons. one, the media will absolutely pick up that ball and run with it no matter how incoherent/corrupt/insane trump is. two, he's running for a four-year job that starts one year from now, so even the first signs of mental decline are worrisome. old people can get old real fast.

That's was so confounding about that attack. Federal transportation for schools is still banned due to anti-desegregation efforts. The Harris campaign seemly planned this attack against Biden for weeks, but couldn't think that presenting a show me bill in the senate to repeal the ban wouldn't earn her brownie points?

If Biden truly had dementia, wouldn't insiders know.  Wouldn't Obama have gotten him to drop out before Pete and Amy exited?  I guess the counter argument is that they thought nobody else could beat Sanders in the primary, but that sounds wrong to me.

Biden has been presented as the sure, safe shot, I wouldn't put it past some people to gloss over possibly a slight decline when his candidacy was considered. It's not necessarily something that would have been been publicized beyond his family either, it's not hard to imagine it could be an uneasy, unspoken secret, happens all the time to us peons.

It's all speculation, he might be fine and come out firing on all cylinders. If he's the nominee, I sure hope so because he'll need it to oust Trump.

Like I said a bit upthread, it's more than he seems slower and less focused than the last time he ran a competitive race, and he's at the age where that trend could accelerate real quick (for a gig that ends five years from now). It's a legit concern.

OTOH we're absolutely going to see people point out spoonerisms and shit like that as rock solid evidence that he's got late stage Alzheimer's. And people saying it's ableism to consider his mental state at all. Basically the discourse is gonna be as much of a shitshow as everything else orbiting around this election.
