so did four justices vote to hear the case and the other five immediately voted to rule "nah" to it?

Biden’s campaign, which only had $12 million in the bank as of the most recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) deadline, will host a series of virtual fundraisers over the month of April. The most high-profile of these will be a “virtual fireside chat” with the former vice president on April 16. That event,  hosted by the Silicon Valley venture capitalist Jed Katz, will cost donors $2,800-a-head to attend. The former vice president’s wife, daughter, and a top foreign policy adviser are also scheduled to host online fundraisers in the coming week for the campaign.
Quote
Since jumping into the race last April, the former vice president has struggled to raise enough money to keep ahead of prolific spending, especially on luxury air travel. Between October and December 2019, Biden’s campaign spent nearly $23.3 million, despite raising only $23.2 throughout in the same period. Those numbers did not improve in the first two months of this year. After flopping in the first three nominating contests, Biden raised only $27 million throughout January and February. His campaign, however, spent nearly all of that, leaving only $12 million on hand at the start of March.

Biden’s fundraising troubles stem from an inability to make in-roads with small-dollar donors, resulting in an overreliance on big money contributors. Unlike his progressive rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Biden’s campaign has been mainly fueled, to date, by more than 4,800 donors with pockets deep enough to max out, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
I will virtually donate, amirite

The Wisconsin situation actually seems to be corona-irrelevant, it's a failure by the state to meet capacity which could have happened anyway.
Quote
In response to this brewing catastrophe, Judge William Conley, an Obama appointee to a federal court in Wisconsin, ordered the deadline for receiving ballots to be extended to 4 pm on April 13. In response to this order, the Republican Party asked the Supreme Court to modify Conley’s decision to require all ballots to be postmarked by April 7 or they will not be counted.
Quote
as of Sunday morning, 12,000 ballots reportedly had not yet been mailed out,
So, in theory, a state can simply fail to ever mail ballots. To test this ruling, I choose Oregon.

Pretty sure it's in my Mod Admiral powers to issue test cases for the Supreme Court. Show me where it's not.

Are we going to talk about the INSANE state and federal supreme court rulings today?

People are trying to NOT DIE and the courts won't let them extend the election or allow people extra time to vote from home. I feel like I'm living in a nightmare

They should just put Biden on one of those Stephen Hawking's machines and let the machine do the talking while Biden just sits there.

Those "small business loans" will be useless if they don't start coming through timely.
Between this, the 1200$ checks that will arrive someday, and the unemployment websites jammed up and people unable to file for benifits...

It's gonna cost an arm and a leg to European countries and tourism, hospitality, restaurants, entertainment (live especially) are all gonna suffer a lot with large gatherings not even being on the horizon but I'm reasonably optimistic that the economy will restart as soon as lockdowns ease and that the hit on people's livehood will be minimized somewhat. Not sure I can say the same for the USA...

What America Needs Next: A Biden National Unity Cabinet

Peak Thomas Friedman.
Quote
My recommendations:

For vice president, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, former Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala or Gov. Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island; for Treasury secretary, Mike Bloomberg; health and human services secretary, Bill Gates; secretary of oversight for the trillions of dollars in emergency coronavirus spending, to make sure it’s done fairly and productively, Elizabeth Warren.

Attorney general, Merrick Garland; homeland security secretary, Andrew Cuomo; secretary of state, Mitt Romney; defense secretary, Michèle Flournoy; labor secretary, Ro Khanna (who co-chaired Sanders’s campaign).

Secretary of national infrastructure rebuild, a new cabinet post, Walmart C.E.O. Doug McMillon; commerce secretary, former American Express C.E.O. Ken Chenault; O.M.B. director, Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio; education secretary, Laurene Powell Jobs; U.N. ambassador, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

HUD secretary, Ford Foundation chief Darren Walker; Interior secretary, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico; energy secretary, Andy Karsner (a green Republican who led renewable energy for George W. Bush); E.P.A. administrator, Al Gore.

Why are Republicans so obsessed with voter fraud despite all the evidence showing it's non-existent to entirely negligible

Because they are liars just trying to suppress votes.

Got any proof of that? Besides them admitting it? Yeah, didn't think so.

The Wisconsin GOP is particularly aggressive about maintaining power through gerrymandering, stripping the governorship of authority in a lame duck session after they lose, etc.

I'm looking forward to the Zoom sponsored Trump/Biden debate.

"You don't even know what you are talking about, look into the camera Joe, there it is look.
He just walked out of the frame, can you believe it"

"He doesn't know anything I'll answer for him"

"Mr. Trump if you don't start behaving right now we will have to cut off your microphone"

"No you won't honey, your ratings will tank and you know it"

Sadly might still be useful in August. Hopefully they start shipping in installments before that...

Production was never going to shift quick enough for the current crisis, even if they started in February, to close the structural shortcomings. Even more so considering you can't produce new medical staff in a few months to put besides it. Every hard hit place has already called in every reserve, retired professionals and students they could throw in that furnace & is converting beds to "ICU" as fast as they could.

He probably reckoned that the primary and convention will not be concluded with any amount of normalcy and that battling for delegates to use as leverage was a bit futile then. The current crisis articulates his points much stronger than he could do himself.
