Ironic 'cuz I keep hearing how Biden will try to put Arizona in play... how the hell are you gonna do that without Latino support?

He won latinos in the AZ primary going by exit polls.

That quote isn't from anyone in Biden's campaign, it's from a Hillary '16 consultant who thinks they're not doing enough outreach.

Funny how this keeps happening, and the misinformation is continually spread by "leftists" and Bernie stans. Gee it's almost like they want Trump to win...  :doge

Hard to do direct outreach during a, ya know, pandemic...when you can't meet with orgs or do much of anything yet. Biden is still incredibly under staffed due to all this. As the staff/team gets assembled I expect outreach, GOTV, etc to ramp up significantly. I'm not worried about any of that.

It seems to me that people are completely divorced from the political and economic reality we find ourselves faced with right now. Unemployment could easily be 20% in the next jobs report. Even with businesses opening up again, revenue is going to be signifigantly down as many people stay home. Things aren't going to magically get better...they will get worse. And the guy in charge of all this has shown himself to be incompetent and downright dangerous. This isn't going to be pretty for Trump. Frankly it doesn't matter what Biden does...the election is entirely about the president and his handling of this crisis.

Maybe we shouldn't have picked the guy who had one of the smallest field operations out of all the primary candidates. Just a thought.

There’s a non-zero chance that Trump wins again, just like there was a non-zero chance Trump would win in 2016.  The election unfolded very much with how polling had it for the states that mattered - dead heat between the two in the Midwest/PA/Florida.  Factor in margin of error, national polling reflecting the popular vote...yes it was surprising, but it wasn’t impossible.

Biden SEEMS to be doing better in the Midwest, and again with the economy and the pandemic, and knowing it’s NOT going to be get better by November, Biden winning seems likely.  But this country is complicated and I wouldn’t be surprised that the populace is stupid enough again to buy into propaganda and fear, so there’s that.

Whoever won was going to inherit a national GOTV operation. Hang wringing over this makes no sense. He'll be fine on that front.

Too few elections with too particular circumstances.

Everyone's trying to figure it out as they go along and whoever wins is going to act like they were a genius when it was just half a year of daily panic and confusion.

Quote
"You know,' says the man in the light gray suit, when his drink arrives, "the finest line of poetry ever uttered in the history of this whole damn country was said by Canada Bill Jones in 1853, in Baton Rouge, while he was being robbed blind in a crooked game of faro. George Devol, who was, like Canada Bill, not a man who was averse to fleecing the odd sucker, drew Bill aside and asked him if he couldn't see that the game was crooked. And Canada Bill sighed, and shrugged his shoulders, and said, 'I know. But it's the only game in town.' And he went back to the game."

~80% of the "what Biden needs to change to beat Trump" quotes and op-eds are from Hillary '16 alumni and #neverTrumpers, the two main groups who have experience losing to Trump.

I get why that is (two groups of politically- and media-connected people who are anti-Trump but not inside the Biden tent) but it's still pretty funny.

Probably establishing that he hated Biden all along just on the off-chance he wins, for the very likely eventuality he's a shitty president.

I have, actually. Point remains: Biden has a huge blind-spot on not reaching a base that was strong with Bernie in terms of grass-root support.

"Don't vote for me," "Vote for Trump if that's what you believe," "If you believe Tara Reade: Don't vote for me," is gonna sink him. This headline in addition saying he has no support of Latin-Americans doesn't help matters either.

But do go off, dude. I've been pretty clear that I have no interest in voting for Biden. I'm just Twitter shitposting to Fillers as a relevant shitpost.

Bingo.

When a candidate is ignoring a key segment of the Dem base which may cost them an election, it's important that we hold them accountable rather than make excuses for them.

As some people were asking about it in a semi-serious way and I did some "digging" into the ObamaGate story to get the jist of it from key sources like Lou Dobbs and so on. Best I can tell, it's based on some confusing and contradictory premises you have to buy.
1. That Obama did not like Flynn (pretty well known, and as mentioned Obama personally warned Trump about the guy) and wanted him on a "list" of warnings to the Trump Admin about people the Obama Team had experience with (very believable)
2. That nobody else in that room, Clapper, Brennan, Yates, Comey, ever had reason to lie to Congress again, and that Yates' story where she forgot the entire conversation because Obama saying this shocked her into having "trouble functioning" during the meeting is the smoking gun. (clearly the truth from all of these people)
3. Absent this Obama offhand comment, the FBI would never have gone after Flynn despite seemingly targeting him separately for some time including prior to the meeting over stuff like Turkey and his son. (not believable in the slightest)
4. That Obama was somehow convinced that the best way to stop Flynn from remaining NSA was to create an elaborate sting trap that relied on a bunch of potentially implausible events occurring all after he left office, rather than Obama trying to head off the appointment ever happening by warning all of the Trump people including Trump himself that Flynn was no good.
5. That Obama is trying to cover this up by... being the only person involved to not dispute any part of the meeting account in their own favor.
6. And this was part of a coup attempt because it led to... an idiot agreeing to a plea deal (from Mueller, not Obama) that recommended no punishment and has now been dropped.
7. Obama did not want this to come out because it leads right back to the main scandal: his birth certificate. (absolutely true)

It's not even as good of conspiracy wankery as the Carter Page stuff, which I think even anti-Trumpers can agree has some moral/legal grey areas to it. It's not even an instance of the Obama Admin illegally spying on anyone. And then the part that got Flynn with Mueller, if you assume he's part of the Obama coup team, didn't even want to charge Flynn for lying to the FBI necessarily!

I don't even think this scandal should make the bracket. Maybe if it wins its conference during a miracle run. But other than that, it's not even a bubble scandal.

This article is embarrassing.

https://nypost.com/2020/05/16/why-life-went-on-as-normal-during-the-killer-pandemic-of-1969/

It cites that teenagers went to musical festivals and weren't scared of the virus but teenagers and college students went to Florida and other destinations en masse for spring break this year during Covid.

Later on someone says,"We trusted medical professionals, individuals and families, not politics" but medical professionals have suggested social distancing with Covid.

So what is it?

Hilariously bad shit. I expect no less from the NY Post but it's still hilarious.
