well we only got the dq7 remake after three years of begging. historically it's been a crapshoot as to if we get dq games or not. nintendo tried to push them in the late 80s and again in the mid 2000s but beyond that we only really got translations after some weebs at nintendo or enix convinced the higher-ups to take a chance. lately releases have been more consistent because it seems like square enix has accepted that the series will always be niche overseas and has adjusted their expectations accordingly. doesn't mean we're not gonna hold our breath each time a new dq game gets announced tho.

After DQ7 and 8 came out there was no way we were not getting DQ11.

Especially since 11 is also a ps4 game.

Now, if 11 bombs then DQ in the west is dead. Since they brought over 7 and 8 to obviously build hype for 11. They consider DQ7 remake an investment. An investment for what? Take a guess.  So 7 and 8 pretty much confirmed 11 coming. Just cross your fingers that 11 doesn't bomb. Because if it does...

Eh how was this doubtful after Builders and the 2 Heroes games got released? If it's a console game, Square will bring it over. Hell at this point if it's a console game, the Japanese publisher will bring it over.

The handheld games have nothing to do with this.

Started playing this today (PS4 version) and...it's pretty neat! DQ's been kinda nice, but kinda boring lately for me (still somewhere in the the first 1/3rd of DQ7r). The same-y art assets/same-y music/all towns look the same/reused enemies, etc.. kinda made it all blend together. This actually feels fresh, all new music, all new art, all new enemy models, new presentation style, etc... I really like the battle camera. Intro was one of the fastest in DQ too.

Last DQ mystery dungeon game was DQ MD mobile 2 which was for mobile phones and released in 2009.

The last real DQ Mystery Dungeon was Yangus released in 2006.

A Mystery Dungeon might happen but it's not guaranteed.

Etrian: This was a good one. Last one I played. I remember it having an annoying mechanic or two, which is par for the course for both Etrian and Mystery Dungeon games. Would play again if the 3DS weren't an awful piece of garbage, deficient from birth.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon: I liked the first one, but not subsequent entries. I was unaware of this one's existence. Also on 3DS so it is unplayable.

Shiren the Wanderer: What's a Vita? Is that like one of those Chinese knockoff game consoles?

Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics: I do recall seeing this title. Don't think I realized it was a Mystery Dungeon game due to the title. Will investigate. Thank you demi. Still delivering after all these years. God bless you!

How is Etrian Mystery Dungeon? That sounds dope as fuck

It was really good. I believe the annoying mechanic was that you had to manage multiple parties (an Etrian staple) and if a party failed in a dungeon, you had to send another party to rescue them or face some. . .probably stiff penalty? And you had to keep your parties balanced and around the same level/gear level since, you know, your main party would be dying on pretty tough/deep levels. I think you could also maybe pay to rescue defeated parties, but I forget--it's been a while. It was definitely a pretty great Mystery Dungeon, but like I said, it seems to be a staple of both Etrian games and Mystery Dungeon games to include at least one mechanic designed to inconvenience you or piss you off or waste your time.
