It's pretty easy to explain why Evilore is such a douchebag.  He made six figures off of GAF before he could legally drink.  He made shitloads of money without doing any real actual work, complete with asskissers who wanted to get a tag or be on the mod short list.  He dated ex models, his friends had Playboy playmates for sisters, traveled the world, and was able to do all that and fight a thousand fights while working 160 hours per week.  He's so unlikable because he hasn't been grounded in reality for almost 15 years.  Not that I sympathize but my point is that he doesn't get it and never will get it.

The sad part about all this is that he will end up getting a job somewhere in the gaming industry with likely an overinflated salary.  The world ain't fair.

It was always just #3 on my favorite sports list.  I was spoiled by the Redwings throughout my formative years.

Baseball is my #1.  They were the worst team throughout my childhood and will be godawful again until my son starts college (he's only two atm).  Yet here I am rooting like hell for the Astros.

I could probably only name 5 Redwings on the active roster atm.

Who is with me? Not only has this thread brought some of the worst of the worst who think this is an alt right enclave, but people looking from the outside actually think we are nazis/gg'ers/red pill/mra/alt right because of the fact we keep these people around to remind ourselves that "at least I'm not that".

Most of my genuine distaste for GAF centered around the shitheel of an owner and that many of the more vocal members of off-topic were a bunch of hypocrites for continuing to post on a forum owned by a trashy, thin skinned PUA. Seeing prominent GAFers (and mods too, TBH) swallow their tongues when it came to certain subjects just because they valued their positions/accounts too much drove me crazy. That was all magnified x10 after the bullshit amir0x response. 

Seeing EviLore rightfully humiliated (completely due to his mounting number of fuckups and poor response to said fuckups, by the way) and most of the users of the site finally moving on to something else, it has a sense of finality to it as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure there will be some comedy to be found on the new site but it just feels different, yeah? I don't hate the userbase as a whole. Some of them are young and naive but that is to be expected on a board about video games. Some of them are too far up their own asses but I don't blame anyone for trying to find a refuge when most of the internet can be pretty uninviting and hostile.

My main motivational factor for posting so much in this thread is gone. The dragon has been slain. I even respect the community for picking up the pieces the way they have. I do get a genuine kick out of meta-discussion but even if this thread sticks around I'm probably done with it anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if most other posters start to feel the same way once they figure out resetera won't offer the same amount of meta content that GAF did.

I only saw two short posts by bishoptl post demotion, they might just have gone unnoticed (but some people did in fact remark to it). Besides, any regular familiar with GAF politics at the time knew full well bish was demoted in apparent disgrace.
