Without being that familiar with Fantano, the article comes across as dishonest in the parts I can recognize. Sam Hyde leans heavily alt-right and probably guilty of a lot of things he gets accused of (so say what you will about Fantano's choice of company, comedic intent aside), but it's weird how the author purposefully cut out details about the beating up Lena Dunham joke and then openly wondered what the joke was. The whole point is that he keeps saying "in a defensive situation", against Lena Dunham no less, to evoke the violent "stand your ground" type fantasies, which he goes on to detail in psychopathic detail as those type of fantasies go to make it weird and uncomfortable. He's done this joke a bunch of times it seems, which is kind of lame in its own right. In addition to leaving out that detail, the author seems to randomly call it a rape joke. The author's following point doesn't really change by distorting what Hyde said (and Hyde is pretty alt-right), so I have no idea why he would do it. One other thing I saw was in the reference of the Sulkowicz / "Mattress Girl" case, where he jumps straight into using Returnofkings as the source of disbelief, when that whole case (and Title IX) was very controversial from the start. Again, more or less unnecessary for his overall point.
I saw someone defending Fantano on GAF. I don't know what to make of it, but I do find the article annoying.
