Not having read Cranston's comments, just what you guys posted, it's kinda like Rush Limbaugh's wanting Obama to fail back in 2009. I get what he meant, because he thought Obama would do all these terrible things, like Nola exampled for Trump, so he's really saying Obama has to fail for America to win, same with Trump. Most people who argue against that aren't really separating the specific policies or politics from the institution of the Presidency. I mean, I don't want Trump to fail too significantly in certain select ways that are tied more to the institution, but overall I want him to fail in a lot of the same ways policy wise that I wanted Obama to fail.
