the extra funny part of this for the cultist dopes in this thread is probably that his explanation is actually more accurate and helpful than most mainstream news stories that rediscover bitcoin every six months or so and "explain" it

BUT THAT DISTRACTED ME I ACTUALLY CAME IN HERE FOR THIS, PROVING THAT BITCOIN IS CONFIRMED TO BE OVER: https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2017/11/21/risky-business-how-pole-dancing-instructor-found-success-bitcoin

Quote
Pole dancing instructor Dee Heath is riding the surge with her fitness business in western Sydney.

She has spent $5,800 on Bitcoin since July and has more than tripled her investment.

"Look, I love pole dancing but lately my passion has definitely been Bitcoin," she told SBS News.

She is now dedicating her time informing would-be Bitcoin investors about navigating the world of cryptocurrencies.

She has started a website to explain Bitcoin.

"It comes with any investing, it's volatile at times, especially cryptocurrencies," she said.

"The good thing is when it goes down, you can buy some more, and you know it's going to go up at some point.

"As long as you're calm and you don't let emotions run you when you're dealing with any sort of cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, then you're safe."
Quote
Others aren't so enthused about the virtual currency.

The head of JP Morgan said recently that cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin are only fit for use by drug dealers, murderers and people living in North Korea.

And there are plenty of other skeptics.

"Australia in particular has been involved in buying and selling drugs on the dark web using cryptocurrencies," said Professor David Glance from the Centre for Software Practice at The University of Western Australia.

"Many are comparing the buzz around Bitcoin to tulip mania that hit the Netherlands in the 17th century."

John McAffee said he'll eat his own dick if BC is not $500,000 by 2020.  :doge

BTW Bob, these aren't corrections, merely volatility. Bitcoin and Ether are simply back to where they were a day ago, BC is still higher actually.

Yes. Right now I'm just waiting for it to dip some before I buy in.

Sitting on about 15 ETH at the moment. Waiting for another $1,000 USD to get transferred to me before I buy some more ETH to buy IOTA with on Binance.

which apps/sites do you guys use to buy coins? The one I'm using only does ETH and BTC and I'd like to parlay that into LTC (:goldberg) and MIOTA.

Coinbase since I'm in the US.

But I use Coinbase's professional trading platform GDAX to send crypto to and from other exchanges like Bittrex and Binance.

Eventually I need to get a dedicated wallet so I'm not keeping my crypto on exchanges. I trust coinbase over the others but you can only buy btc, eth, and ltc there and not buy/send/receive/hold other alt coins there.

Thank goodness I didn't send any money to it last night.

edit: Also, ETH is starting to dip... I always buy too soon or too late.  :doge

I probably shouldn't look at the price until the end of this week.

I'm going to move some ETH into XLM (stellar lumens). Allegedly it's supposed to pump up before the 7th due to a major partnership. "Buy the rumor. Sell the news."

Then following that VTC (vertcoin) should rise due to the "halvening". December 12th is the target date but... I know not to trust target dates too heavily now.

Also, keep an eye out for GRS and LSK as well.

Fucking A...

Just transferred 10 eth to my Bittrex account from my GDAX account and it's taking longer than usual...

I always get heart palpitations whenever transfers take forever....

edit:
https://qz.com/1145833/cryptokitties-is-causing-ethereum-network-congestion/

This might be the cause.  :doge

Shit like this is why crypto won't gain mass adoption anytime soon.

edit2: If I no joke just lost close to $4500 because of a transfer error I'm quitting crypto.  :beli

I searched for the ether address I sent 10 ETH to on etherscan and the transaction is not showing up.

Etherium is usually faster for me compared to Bitcoin. Both are much faster then transferring USD around.

Have you checked the transfer details on Coinbase to make sure the delivery has happened yet?

Should've just bought litecoin....  :comeon

edit: I filed a support ticket with gdax to hopefully get an idea what's going on from their end.

It says the transaction is completed on gdax but my bittrex ethereum wallet remains empty.

Minimum deposit amount is .1 ETH on bittrex.

I sent in 10 ETH.

Sent over some BTC (I converted my remaining 5 ETH to BTC) to my Bittrex account to buy up some MCO.

Here's hoping it arrives before MCO begins to shoot up.  :doge

edit: probably should've converted the ETH into LTC, sent the LTC to bittrex, then traded the LTC to BTC but that's such a giant chore...

Also, looks like MCO is in a tight accumulation pattern. Could break out soon...

Also, woke up to some nice profits from XLM this morning:

 :success

edit: Gonna stay in until the 7th ....then I might take out a good chunk and hold the rest since this coin could have some big potential in the future.

I don't have completely good "optics" on it but...

If you're feeling conservative, go ahead and take your profits.

If you're feeling generally optimistic about this coin hold everything and maybe just take half of your profits.

Here's what you have to look forward to in the coming days:
http://coinmarketcal.com/?form%5Bmonth%5D=12&form%5Byear%5D=2017&form%5Bcoin%5D=Einsteinium+%28EMC2%29&form%5Bsort_by%5D=&form%5Bsubmit%5D=

There could be a huge sell-off after the fork. But coin burns generally increases the value of the coin.

And the lead up to that announcement could spur a ton of buys after the fork & burn date.

Valve just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Bitcoin culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in Fiat where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Bitcoin, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the bitcoin public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Valve games for any system, nor will they purchase any games on Steam. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Valve has alienated an entire market with this move.

Valve, publicly apologize and reallow Bitcoin or you can kiss your business goodbye.
