For people like me who don't drink, this is what they call a freebie.

Drinking alcohol has too many harms than the count on Single finger good. It’s a useless endeavor for “fun” which results in
- alcoholism
- dui accidents and deaths
- broken homes
- broken relations
- unwanted sexual encounters
- health issues


All for the moment of “fun” which in the sum of life is not so fun

The teetotaler life pays off.

I always found it weird how prevalent binge drinking is displayed in media. It's the cool "answer" to every stressful situation.

Society pretty much gives alcohol a free pass from criticism regardless of the facts. Highly unlikely that is ever going to change.

Well, with all the ills I hear of alcohol I'm glad I dislike the taste of it. I already eat way too much and all the wrong things. That's enough of a bad habit in its own.

Idk dudes the older I get the more painful the consequences of drinking are. Even a responsible night fucks me over the entire next day now.

I know people that have killed others driving drunk, destroyed their own health, drank all thier money away, ruined their relationships.

've never met a self-proclaimed responsible drinker who didn't drink irresponsibly at some point in their life.

Every person I've met who drunk enough to wear that fact as some sort of badge of honor has at some point of their life put themselves and others in potential harm. Every story of shitty behavior or regrettable consequences nowadays seems to be prefaced with "So I was really drunk when...".

Fuck alcohol and its social acceptance.

I wonder if drinking will ever go by the wayside like smoking has? All of these studies and everyone kinda knowing full well what the consequences of alcohol is tells me that, eventually, alcohol is going to diminish incredibly in the market.

Yeah, everyone dies at some point.

But would it be fine if you throw your hard-earned money you've gathered since youth to the hospital?

And how about your family? They'll be the ones who are the most devastated both mentally and financially.

I'm glad I started hating alcohol this year as a 21/22-year-old. The only thing I have to work on is saying "no" to alcohol whenever I'm pressured into it for a birthday or something. Otherwise I would never, ever drink again.

Slow poison being tasty is not something good in the long run. Risk vs reward is simply not worth it. YOLO but so do others who might get affected if negativity occurs. For background, Destiny is a streamer who used to be a big Starcraft player. Nowadays he mostly just plays PUBG and League of Legends (and some other games), but one thing he also loves doing a lot is doing live political debates on stream that last around 1-3 hours.

In the era of all the fake "skeptics" who like to falsely claim to be centrist while only attacking the left and always agreeing with the right, Destiny is someone who used to lean heavily libertarian but from his debates nowadays you can tell he is now a GENUINE left leaning centrist.

Now one topic that obviously has been a discussion in defeating the alt-right is "Do we debate them?" and while I still am of the belief that you definitely have to be careful not to be naive and treat the alt-right as just a joke that you can give a platform and assume no one will take seriously, Destiny does something that I think is very valuable. Destiny shows you HOW to debate the pseudo-intellectual alt-right figureheads without falling for any traps so that YOU end up the actual victor rather than a fool who just accidentally gave some asshole the chance to control the political narrative. For someone to be Anti-SJW they have to be one of three things:

1) uninformed well the next two categories are uninformed too to varying degrees, but one could argue there are people who are only anti-SJW purely because they think it's "cool" and have zero investment in politics

Now, i have not been to india. But im still having nightmares over a seminar i attended a couple of years back where the graphic reality of the conditions that some of our lecturing physicians faced there was shown.
