I dunno if I'd put it over the Phantom Menace. PM issues aside, it was an "alright" film that should've set the "tone" for the prequel with the political backstabbing being the fore-front. From what I recall (and I am not watching the prequels ever again) it was there in the background and then SURPRISE THE SENATOR IS A SITHLORD!

I also really dig his suggested improvements and how the Clone War really should have went down. I dunno, RotS is the best of the prequels but it surprisingly has the most material for a takedown review.

I had all three running in the background at work the last couple days and drew the same conclusion haha. Yeah the third one is definitely the best.

I liked the varied settings in TPM the most and the ending was the best fight scene in any SW movie.

That's enough for me to put it as the best. The third one was ponderous, visually dark and drab, and the final battle was a shitshow.

Kind of a moot exercise though. It's like picking out your favorite D+ paper your kid wrote.

I sorta wish they’d relax the HITBs in favor of more re:View and especially BOTW. There’s only so many HITB I can watch where Mike and Jay are lukewarm on a popcorn blockbuster.

I burned through every (then) available BotW years ago and have been crawling my way through old HITBs I haven’t already seen for one reason or another ever since and maybe 1/5 are worth the whole 30-45m outside of the Plinkett skits.

I realize that all probably goes against what the view numbers tell them to do, but afaik they’re making the vast majority of their money on patreon and I’d much rather watch the occasional HITB about movies they loved or the disasters like Justice League. As it is it kinda feels like they’re going through the motions to put out 30m or so of commentary on movies that neither of them give much of a shit about.

I watched the first episode of Star Trek Discovery and didn't really care for it. Now after watching Mike and Rich talk about it I know STD ain't for me. The first season plot lines looked like the last season of some show that lost any coherence.

I wouldn't have hundreds of hours into FTL if not for watching those early Rich Pre-Rec streams. For that alone the entire thing is redeemed in my eyes.

Both guys have some really dumb off the cuff hottakes on their livestreams, however. I usually just watch their reviews now and skip the twitch stuff.

PreRec has its moments, but yeah I prefer them in RLM. The Cuphead review was a low point to me.

There's several things to disagree on PreRec, but I thought some of their cynical approaches to the industry are refreshing compared to gaming journalism/other Youtube coverage, which too often feels like straight up shilling in this hobby. I liked that one E3 review they had a few years back. And when they are enthusiastic about things like Bloodborne and Doom, they are also more eloquent and insightful than your average youtuber, I feel.
