Yes gate the story by needlessly requiring the player to engage in the side activities which a lot of people won't find too interesting besides the hunting. I'm sure that would improve opinions on the game.

Robbing a train is barebones, you cannot rob banks on your own volition and robbing stores and such yields very little money.

There is def a lot of stuff that should have been improved, but I still find Rockstars single player games vastle superior to most other efforts.

Being able to simply say hello to any random NPC already grounds the game in realism. As soon as you go back to Assasins Creed or any other open world where you are basically a mute, you cannot greet anyone and only say shit in cutscenes and stuff.

Completely agree with that video. I don't give a shit about "realistic skinning animations" if that means I can fail a mission because I was 6 steps away from the correct trail.

Rockstar's games are becoming more and more schizophrenic.

Dude is just nitpicking. The game is ridiculously detailed as it is, its a marvel from a technical standpoint. I for one really like the slow, realistic animation. It makes the world feel more real and immersive. But I can understand why someone would disagree. The game is great to relax and adventure through, I enjoy the slow pacing. If I want some twitchy action I can just play Bayonetta or something

Did you guys even watch the video?

Most of what he's complaining about is the fucking restrictive mission design. I tried to flank in one of the missions myself and got a failure screen cause I got too far away from the gang. It's the best open world with the least open mission design. Just follow the text on the bottom of the screen.

I certainly watched some of it. Yes they are very restrictive in their mission structure, I think they are also aware of it.

They should be less restrictive for sure.

This has been an issue since gta3 tbh.
RDR2 is my GOTY by a long shot, but it's hard to argue that the mission design can get comical in how it wants you to just follow the on screen instructions to look at all the little things they have "prepared" for you, which is kind of antithetical with the idea of open world.

But then again, everybody else isn't doing that much with mission designs in open worlds either, even something like Breath of the Wild, reserves most of its freedom for the more roaming stuff, and had to curb its dungeons significantly, too.

I guess more obscure WRPGs can provide some examples of freedom in that sense, but even then, we're talking about a very different market, that R* is catering to, a market not primed for that level of jank (not from a R* game).

They could (and should) relax a bit, but i doubt they'll ever feel the need to, given their constant streak of commercial and critical success.

The only upside here, is that they managed to really control the pace of RDR2 incredibly well, for an open world with a ton of shit to do, and same goes for the tone, and part of that, is because they limited the shit you could do in critical missions, to just following the yellow dot and executing the command as instructed.

It is but it really only lasts about an hour or so? Maybe even less? I cant quite remember.

It's quite a forgettable part of the game though

Oh, man. RDR's Mexico stint was a fucking drag. Not only TOO LONG, but thematically bullshit compared to what comes before and after:
Marston: I'm trying to get past my history of darkness and blood.
Mexico: We need you to kill people for a bloodthirsty thug, and betray good people.
Also Marston: OKAY.

Why even play pvp with the aimlock  ???

If it's similar to RDR1, there are plenty of tricky/finicky controller finesse moves possible. Usually it's sub-aiming, even within lock-on, though Bullet Time target painting was also pretty important. There's also finesse involved in breaking opponent's lock-on by rolling.

If you hold L2 while not holding a weapon you can talk to anyone

Put the controls on standard fps controls

I never shot anyone I didnt intend to. I'm not sure how people are fumbling up the controls or something.

The game was 100gb install on PS4/base Xbone and more on X1X, so 150gb isn't too surprising.

Yeah, it seems to be a new standard forming, especially since PS5 will have 100GB blu ray, and Last of Us 2 two discs.
RDR2 has a massive amount of voiced dialogue though, so at least i can see where a lot of that goes.

It shouldnt be the PSU because I took it to a store to test it with a different PSU ( because I did think that was the issue ) and it had the same issue.

Hm, so it's a cold boot issue. No experience with those. (How was the replacement PSU tested? Multiple times, I hope? Wondering how it was ruled out.)

One easy thing to try:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-turn-off-fast-startup-windows-10-a.html

Check for BIOS updates for your mobo as well.

If it's not the PSU booting every once in a while on something new makes me think sketchy connection somewhere but there is really no telling.

What else have you tried? Can you boot to recovery at all? Will it boot w/o vidcard, with one or the other stick of ram etc?

if you can get ur pc on do a memory diagnostic.

if that's ok then try clearing your CMOS (google how for your mobo), if that works then re-flash/update your BIOS.

if that doesn't work take your pc to a technician.
