Yeah, frequently the "I don't see colour" mindset is paired with ignorance or the outright dismissal of the issues minorities have dealt with and continue to deal with. Plus it ignores the fact that people are inherently different, and that's okay and worth celebrating.

Also, the world being filled with mixed race people unfortunately won't solve racism. Colourism is already a thing, and if everyone in the world is mixed race then they'll start judging you based on what % you're x and y and z, etc or how.

Me, I'm a dude, and I don't constantly going around pondering how masculine I'm feeling at any given minute.  I probably do feminine things on occasion and don't even think twice about it because it literally does not matter.  I would guess most people live their lives that way too, because it's not something that needs thinking about.  Acting feminine briefly doesn't classify you as etherofemmeself.  It just means you're human.

So yeah I'm tired too of people going  about every little shift in mood they have and leaping to conclusions about how it represents their very core.

November 20th was Transgender Day of Remembrance, where trans people and our supporters mourn the trans people murdered in hate crimes (usually by cisgender, heterosexual-identified men).

I’m not going to waste my time appealing to Colin Jost’s sense of shame. SNL has been a flagship in normalizing transphobic violence. Whenever they can get a misogynist, anti-LGBT, fundamentalist Republican to come on their show and a be in on the joke of their own reprehensibility, they do it, every time. Anyone who works for SNL is impervious to such appeals.

Maybe they repress their shame, the way their unoriginal rabbit-punching of queer people, disabled people, people of color, immigrants, and abuse survivors have likely caused those people to take up less space, to speak up less, and to keep their heads down.

first a mod will hop in the discord and ask for fifteen to twenty minutes "uh does anyone know if this is actually racist? need a second opinion"

someone will come online and say they're not sure

it attracts the attention of two other moderators

the four start googling for a while and debating. one of the mods says a warning would be ridiculous. debate rages on.

an hour later a fifth mod pops in and says "hey, I handled that turd burglar report, never even heard of that slur before. crazy. anyway gave the guy a three day ban (pending review) for homophobia."

Everyone else shrugs their shoulders, relieved it was handled.
