Racism and oppression still occurs on a national scale every day. Colorblindness doesn’t work and has been proven to make inequality worse.  The majority is still benefiting from those things that happened hundreds of years ago and also are benefiting from what’s happening right now

I don't know about completely pretending race doesn't exist, but the obsession with race, this hyper-racial politics coming out of the Left isn't doing any good. When you have black people freaking out over white people having dreadlocks, for instance, it becomes a little harder to argue the commonalities between races. Everyone would agree that you shouldn't be judged by skin colour and that doesn't determine character, but this is within a backdrop of rampant identity politics where racial difference almost seems reinforced by the nature of the attention given to it rather than undermined. It seems to run counter to the real goals.
