Vice seems like it has been a very poorly controlled organization at times. They seem to make some really dumb choices at times and fail to correct them adequately. I'll reserve judgement on this til I know more than etiolate's hot take and this small bit of context, but it wouldn't shock me.

They have done some downright great work, and employed some great journalists, doing good work on things like Climate Change, The Israeli/Palestenian conflict, The Iron Pipeline, even debunking etiolate's favorite conspiracy he still defends, but they seem to be always in the news with some shit they screwed up with, be it rampant sexual harassment or spots of selective editing that borders on taking things out of context... to make it more edgy and exciting I guess.
