Most of the trans people I've met have been completely normal well adjusted people that just happen to be trans.
But the excelsior, ketkat, Cream and Sweet Nicole types typically drown them out with their online lunacy
I'm sure I'm a monster for saying this, but I've honestly never met a trans person in real life who comes across as normal and well adjusted. Always very socially awkward and a bit uncomfortable to speak with. I worked with a few trans folk in my old job and it's stuff like not being able to make eye contact, not understanding the concept of personal space and having their face like 6 inches from mine, having conversations that would end abruptly and awkwardly. Like they all had autism basically.
I've also encountered a few outright unhinged trans people who very clearly need to be on medication. All of this + the crazy aggressive types online have lead me to have an more negative than positive opinion of the trans community. I try to keep an open mind about it but it's harder to do the older I get. About 20 years ago I realized that gay people weren't freaks or mentally ill and are usually just normal people. The bleeding heart liberal in me wants to feel that for trans people, but it just hasn't happened. The negative opinions I've developed are what keep getting reinforced.
I have met crossdressers at swingers clubs and they've been cool, but I think there is supposed to be a distinction between CDs and trans people.
Did I just carepost?
