It's something I didn't really think about, but EVERY gas station had a huge rack of maps right at the door. You don't really see them as much anymore.

 You could just pop in there, quickly thumb through a map and get the info you needed and put it back (if you were like me and were poor and without shame). Or you could gamble and ask someone for directions.

I honestly don't miss that too much. It was fun for sure, but now it's just so easy. My folks used to go down to AAA and get a TripTik which was a nifty spiral bound route plan with any construction on it, and even pointed out speed trap towns.

The current requirements of 100 posts and 1 month before gaining full Membership were only as low as they were out of consideration for the launch period. From now on the new requirement will be 300 posts and 3 months.

Join a discussion forum and spend 3-6 months before you can even make a thread 

This kind of thing is intended to prevent BOTS from slipping through and making threads.  Require 25 posts or something.  300?!

It amazes me that they keep adopting policies from GAF like that. That's literally GAF'S old thread making requirements. I'd love to see an actual user experience survey conducted on that site and find out what members really feel.
