I'm honestly surprised Jase (I'm nearly finished that list, sweetheart.
Promise I'll finish it sometime in May! Too many irons in the fire! :'( ) went along with this. I know Jawmuncher would because lol mod lol. But Jase? I figured Jase would be more "uh, no. They're shitting up the thread and should be actioned accordingly while the people/regulars that are calling it out don't/get told to report and move on."
I actually wasn't around for that announcement. I don't think somebody acted out of turn, though, as a while ago I had some input into a far narrower, eventually discarded message that just clarified the policy on Steam versus consoles, so I'd guess an assumption was made that I'd approve of the message as posted. While I would've suggested some changes if I were present at the time, I harbour no ill will about the inclusion of my name (again, there was logic to it and these sort of matters are time-sensitive), and the point is moot as I was heavily involved with the subsequent course correction. I can understand the concerns some have about SteamEra being replaced by an all-encompassing PC-Era, but the admins felt that bringing everything together under one roof was necessary to make PC gaming as a whole a "protected class" a la consoles, which itself has resulted in the policy changes folks have been asking for; and as others have already mentioned in the new thread, the Steam threads have always attracted general PC gaming discussion due to their counterparts having a fraction of the activity (if they exist at all). Really, the only difference now is that this is reflected in the title. I don't imagine the threads will progress any differently than before.
In fewer words, all's well that ends well. And no worries regarding the keys.
