So sorry to bump this topic but I just want to apologize to everyone, I was incredibly intoxicated at the time and made a fool of myself. Ive always been too afraid to touch these topics about gamergate, just because there has always been an uncomfortable amount of anger present. So after a little (a lot) of liquid courage I apparently conquered my fears... turned out to be a really bad idea.

And since I cant disgrace myself any further at this point, and the topic of tolerance is important to me. I figure, lets go for broke.

Look, people change at all ages, not even just teens. Just over the last 15 years, people of all generations, faiths, backgrounds have drastically changed their opinions on marriage equality.

This idea that prejudice is set in stone from an early age, let alone any age, isn't supported by any evidence.

Additionally, if you actually want to make a change, and reduce prejudice. You shouldn't be shunning these people from your community, you should be welcoming them.

While im fairly ignorant on the whole gamergate movement, I have definitely noticed a rise in what appears to be sexism, racism etc. amongst gamers (which gamergate is apparently a proxy for), and it is an issue I do care deeply about. Which is why I have tried to engage with these people at times to understand them. And as worthless as anecdotal evidence is, they really don't appear to be bigots. They are primarily concerned with "SJWs" trying to change their games. Its simply a fear of change, which I think everyone can relate to. You know, you goto college or move out from your parents for the first time... there is an inherent fear of the unknown. We all experience it to some degree.

Either way, I don't think the world is doomed. And I think its important to show tolerance, even to those who are intolerant if you genuinely want to make a difference. Truly evil people are few and far between, imo.

Anyhow, that's my hot take. You are free to disagree with it. Just wanted to try to promote a little compassion for your fellow man. Currently undecided if im too embarrassed to ever post here again, so if you reply to this message and don't get a response.... that's probably why.

I honestly think that Gunn should most definitely one day work for WB and help world build the DC Universe, he has shown willing to do so one day. But this is bigger than Gunn at this point. I want Gunn to finish his trilogy. Before, I wanted him to make cosmic Marvel the way he was thinking about, now tho? I just want him to tell his story and then he most definitely should go to WB and make a shit ton of money for making excellent films. But right now, this is way bigger than Marvel and DC. I'm a fan of both, mind you.
