Just skimmed the past few pages. A weird trend lately is the belief that offense is sacred. It's not. You can be offended for dumb reasons, and criticizing the offense you've taken is fair game. If you think intent doesn't matter, you're crazy. Mens rea has been a necessary thing to establish guilt for centuries. Your offense doesn't override their intent when it comes to determining if they should be punished.
I should be clear that this is mostly in response to Cream's beefs. I do think that NYT woman had racist intent in writing those tweets.
