My hairline started receding at around age 18/19. For me it was extremely devastating as I have always had severe body image issues and my hair was the one thing I ever liked about my appearance.

Fortunately I was able to completely halt it with a very hardcore (most would probably say “insane”) regiment but it stopped my hair loss dead in its tracks by obliterating my Testosterone and DHT to essentially zero. Sadly I didn’t get any regrowth through so I’ll need a transplant to fill in the temples and get back my original hairline (hopefully someday I can afford it). In the meantime the way I style my hair covers the temples completely but I sure would like to be able to tie it back in a high ponytail or bun without feeling disgusting.

Anyways this is my stack if you were curious.

5 mg Finasteride daily

0.5 mg Dutasteride daily

50 mg Cyproterone daily

10 mg Estradiol injected once weekly

This is pretty much the nuclear option outside of surgical castration. Most men would never consider doing anything this extreme. I am just a very special case in that I valued my hair over any and all side effects including gynecomastia, infertility, and sexual dysfunction.

If someone really want to do something I would recommend just starting with Finasteride as its pretty effective on its own in slowing the progression of MPB and the side effects are fairly rare.
