Regardless how much I think Alan Horn was a stupid asshole firing Gunn, it's hard to not see the "business side" of this thing: Disney is going through their biggest acquisition of its history. It needs the DOJ approval, and Rupert Murdoch is friends with Trump. Gunn was one of the most outspoken famous people owning Trump on Twitter almost at a daily basis. The alt-right scandal was hard to navigate back then, but maybe after the merger is done and Horn is out, it might become manageable. I wouldn't discard James Gunn still being secretly "on hold" for this, despite what the actors close to the production know and think.

He seems to be operating specifically on the wrong side of the A/B test. Whenever we have a victory, Gavin says we're doing the wrong thing. That exudes deception.

 

  First of all, Gamergate was a fantastic redpilling experience because it's when your average dudebro started to realize the media they consumed has an Anti-Western (well, White) agenda. I and many others went down the slippery slope and at the bare minimum ended up at The_Donald tier conservative. I went farther than most but the key is that r/KiA has a substantial amount of Alt Lite users who are just too afraid to go full 14. They're at the stage that they care about being called nazis (AHS already calls them that though).

There's a few important points to be made here:

1: All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. Politics is a spectrum, one can generally expect that an extremist supports the moderates who share a political enemy with that extremist (usually a diametrically opposed extremist), but that doesn't necessarily mean the moderates support the extremist or his extreme views.

2: I think we can all agree that Weev and his ilk are not reliable sources of information, so they shouldn't suddenly become such when they say something you want to hear. Just because they say GamerGate has helped push their agenda doesn't make it true, it is always in their interests to try to attach themselves to the coattails of bigger, more successful, and more acceptable causes.

3: Your own link rather undermines your argument. Okay, 173 people upvoted fucking Weev, that's rather embarrassing. But you do know that most people probably don't pay much attention to the username of a person submitting a topic, or make that the deciding factor in whether they upvote, right? He submitted a completely legitimate and relevant topic about censorship on a gaming platform. That's like saying that if Hitler liked dogs, and you like dogs too, you agree with Hitler and are therefore a Nazi. Add to that the number of people who don't even know who Weev is, didn't believe he was the real Weev and not just some rando who got the name on reddit first, or didn't care because, again, it's a legitimate topic, and it's pretty easy to explain those upvotes.

But look at the COMMENTS. Most of the highest upvoted comments amount to "holy shit it's Weev" and making fun of him. Not exactly the reaction you'd expect from people who agree with his neo-Nazi views. This doesn't help your argument. You know perfectly well that KIA believes in free speech and opposes the idea of no-platforming. They are not going to suddenly decide that people with odious political views cannot post relevant and rule-abiding topics there. Reddit's moderation guidelines even specify that you're NOT supposed to ban people for things they've done outside of your subreddit (not that this is ever enforced against SJWs).
