We live in a society where women get paid less than us, are abused by us, and are taken for granted by us. The least we can do is eat their ass.

Resetera are the Japanese who never surrendered after WW2
I'll reserve my judgement until I hear Smollett's official response. It's still innocent until proven guilty for me.

Nicolas Boileau-Despreaux (November 1, 1636 - March 13, 1711), commonly called Boileau, was a French poet and critic
I don't get it. Why are people condemning Smollett without having all of the facts? Why would I believe the police over the victim?Where is the proof though?
Quotebecause the police believed Jussie and tried to find justice for him. They were on his side.I'll reserve my judgement until I hear Smollett's official response. It's still innocent until proven guilty for me.

Quotebecause the police believed Jussie and tried to find justice for him. They were on his side. Were they? I haven't been following this that closely, but I haven't seen anything in these recent articles to be sure of that.
What someone needs to ask is, if you’re not allowed to call bullshit because it might be seen as victim blaming, then how would anyone ever suss out bullshit in the first place?
Jussie could've just hired Bobby. If he'd did, he could claim Bobby was black and white at the same time.
I don't know the specifics but if you read the original thread there were plenty of folks -- including myself -- discussing the many weird inconsistencies in the story - and commenting bluntly that it was all very weird - but there was at least one poster actively hoping for a "backwards b" twist for what at that time seemed like a weird way to discuss it. I was very plain that there were elements of his story that didn't add up - but also that sadly there's nothing impossible about a) racists shouting MAGA and beating up a person of colorb) a celebrity being stalked by violent and racist haters c) the Chicago PD releasing faulty information through mistakes or incompetenced)a city PD releasing false information for deliberately malicious reasonse) the press misreporting fundamental facts and creating a confused or false narrative f) a celebrity trying to create publicity or drama where none existed The story was muddled several times, on the fly by all of the above and more (including a seemingly fabricated leak that he was going to be fired followed by a statement from Fox that it was untrue - and the PD releasing updates as they found out more. The number one thing that raised suspicions for me and others was the existence of a clearly related threat that was sent to the studio days prior - but also that his stalkers or hate mail senders knew where he lived and happened to be prepared with a noose and bleach at 2am when he got the munchies. All of the above things were and are still possible - and he's still not charged with a crime and there's still a chance more shoes could drop.I think people - mods and posters alike - are on edge because very real, unfabricated racism and division are being resurrected, amplified and frankly created by a significant faction of our elected leaders. If it turns out he faked all this for publicity or something selfish and venal then he deserves to be held accountable. But it doesn't mean racism is not real, or hyped up or exaggerated. For every Jessie Smollet, there's a thousand dead young men and women, innocent kids in jail, communities torn apart and presidents defending nazis as very fine people, encouraging cops to rough up untried arrestees and telling his audience to physically assault their enemies - collating black politicians as "unintelligent", instigating physical attacks on the press. And if we're going to talk about fabricated racial animus? Our president ran the following paid ad in the failing New York Times - damning five innocent black kids and spectacularly contributing to the destruction of their lives.(Image removed from quote.) A made up story. An elaborate and expensive falsehood. Pushed by a TV personality unconcerned by its veracity or the right to a trial, to exacerbate racial tension and hatred. And appeared on every show that he could to damn them on TV. He never even apologized btw, or even admitted he was wrong. The stupid thing is that the two things aren't unrelated - this is not whataboutism - it's a divide that's been pushed nonstop -- and that's why people are on edge. Any poster who got unfairly banned should be unbanned imo, but people are on eggshells because people are deliberately throwing out eggs. Including potentially this guy Smollet. And if he's guilty and doesn't have a really really amazing excuse (I can't even think of a ludicrous one) he'll have created disproportionate harm and resentment and hatred and frankly taken advantage of a societal harm. But it doesn't make anything about this go away. And I don't doubt it'll make things worse, no matter how this thing plays out.

I wish I could get paid to sit in my office all day and post long winded rants on reeeeesetera like frank does
Wait a minute, is it pronounced jussy, as in ‘rhymes with pussy’ or Jussie, as in ‘rhymes with hussie’? Cuz I’ve been saying the latter pronunciation but I just heard otherwise

to ask you which of your female friends you find hotter
THAT CERTAINLY MAKES ME FEEL BETTER. COME TO THIN OF IT, IT SEEMS LIKE YOU CAN ONLY FORGE THAT KIND OF FRIENDSHIP WITH SOCIAL LINKS OF THE SAME GENDER. OPPOSITE GENDER SOCIAL LINKS WILL REVERSE QUICKLY. DOES THIS MEAN TRUE FRIENDSHIPS BETWEEN PEOPLE OF OPPOSITE GENDER DO NOT EXIST?HASHINO: I’ve never successfully forged a true friendship with a girl in real life.
Yosuke does not deny a charge that he is hesitant to save pop idol Rise from lethal danger because of the possibility that she will take her clothes off
I can't believe the distinguished mentally-challenged fellow jr tweeted about the this jossie thing.
Within hours of the phobic revelations about Catherine: Full Body, a petition to add the game to the official ResetEra banlist (written by yours truly) was submitted to site admins, amassing almost 50 member signatures and prompting an official staff response

Was this during the rose garden national emergency thing? His dad actually commented on it and said it was horrible (but wasn't paying attention to the question and launched into another border wall rant)But the fact he was prompted into a statement might make him embarrassed enough to offer additional commentary

It seems obvious that, for so long as Hashino remains commercially successful and in decent public relations standing, his employment will not be threatened, and he will continue to receive the respect and resources necessary to put out new titles that can serve as outlets for his offensive views. By voting with our wallets and shouting with our social media accounts, we do indeed have the potential to affect real change. This is a course of action that the author of this post will most certainly be taking. Others in the conversation have suggested the boycott be widened to all games by Hashino's employer, Atlus Co., Ltd., entirely. The purpose of this thread is threefold. The first is to provide all the relevant reading on this subject in a single, convenient place for both current and future reference. The second is an outlet for members to continue their opposition to Katsura Hashino and the inclusion of his phobic views in games; ResetEra is the largest gaming forum in the world, frequented by many important English-speaking members of the games industry, and our words do, indeed, not fall solely on deaf ears.

QuoteI've never played Catherine before, and that type of game does not interest me at all. But I did skim through the whole linked thread and that stuff does not offend me. I've never boycotted any type of media, and doubt I ever will. I have no personal interest in the Catherine game, but not because of the OP's reasons. As for Persona, I've played a couple of them. Regarding bullying scenes, that's totally realistic when you're talking about a high-school setting. In fact it would be *extremely weird* to have a video game about high school social life, without any bullying whatsoever and every kid buddy-buddy with each other. That would feel very off and break immersion as far as I'm concerned.Yall never seen fat kids getting bullied growing up through elementary, middle, high schools? That happens every day in every country on earth. Please fuck offNot only does complete apathy at utter transphobia say more than enough about you, but to be so fuckin apathetic to people as a whole that you want homophobic bullying in games is beyond excusable.

Quotehuh?? I didn't bully any fat kids or any kids growing up, because I was just an average under-the-radar kid who got along with everyone. I wasn't on either endI was just pointing out about any video game that's completely set in high school social life -- wouldn't make sense or feel realistic if every character got along with everyone else. That'd be weird in that type of setting? You are the problem and this is in itself homophobic, you realize that rightAsking to not be demonized isnt fuckin kiddifying your dumb anime games where teens fight monsters

QuoteWhat's homophobic, I specifically was referring to the fat kid example with the kid breaking a bike by sitting on it. That's what I said the first post about fat kids being bulliedOkay, fatphobic thenYou know how you write bullying? You make the bully a villain. You dont use victims for comedic affect when youre actively targetting a specific group of people.

And, egregiously, the FACTS are that Jussie Smollett WAS attacked. Investigation is now saying the attack, which did happened, was self-orchestrated.

look Will was drawn in by BIG MECHANICAL SPIDER like everyone else but Kevin Smith
Let's just say I'll believe a victim of assault over the attacker until the facts come out.I have no problem condemning Smollett if the accusations against him are true. He would be fucking over so many real victims of assault. Equating that to meaning I'll defend the alleged attackers as well is a big goddamn stretch. This is all I will say on the matter.

Thank you for taking the time to write this out. You're very good with words on such important and nuanced subjects.
