Smash still needs a western game rep... Lara, Crash, or John Madden would be my call. Also Shovel Knight, though he'd be more of an indie rep than a western rep.

Quote
Smash Ultimate is fast-paced and responsive, a significant draw for fans who found Brawl’s and even Smash 4’s speed underwhelming. Developers adjusted every fighter to accommodate Smash Ultimate’s speed buff. Zelda, for example, feels like she’s moving at light speed compared to Smash 4’s weighed-down Hyrule princess.

Something about the graphics felt off, the videos had this weird flat shading which made it feel like an upscaled Gamecube game. Which is probably not too far from what it actually is tho

Yeah there were certain angles on certain models that just looked off. Something about Link and Zelda's hair both look off to me too.

Hopefully they'll keep tweaking it until release.

BOTW Link's remote bombs are cool to me but I was legit surprised how happy I was to see ALBW Zelda :heart Also OOT Ganon with that final form final smash :obama

I think I told Tasty this before but I always wanted a ridiculously big roster out of Smash and my legit favorite thing about Melee, aside from playing with friends of course, was the process behind unlocking the characters (saying you start with a small roster where you have to unlock the rest has me pretty happy tbh) and all the single player modes (Adventure, classic, and event) which I found to be endlessly replayable. I don't think anyone else was stanning for single player modes so don't know if there will be more to it than Smash 4, but legitimately everything else sounds like gravy to me.

Melee is the Super Turbo of Smash- some people are never going to stop playing it and 'refuse' to move on.  But it hits new heights of ridiculousness when you have players dropping out of tournaments because they couldn't find the right broken controller to use.

The broken controller thing isn't really an issue anymore iirc. They just use a modded memory card to duplicate the "issue" across all controllers.

I'm just gonna say it.

I prefer Ganon's Twilight Princess look.

I also prefer Zelda's Ocarina of Time look.

And of course nothing tops Fox's Melee look.

Hopefully they're back as alt costumes.

I wouldn't be surprised if the final roster was an even 70 (not counting echo characters.) So five more slots to go.

Probably something for ARMS, maybe a deep cut like Geno or something. There's always one weird "unexpected" character.

Melee: Game & Watch
Brawl: ROB
Wii U/3DS: Duck Hunt

What NES-era peripheral could they still mine for a new character? :thinking
