The only 17 unconfirmed stages from past games, and my notes.

64:
- Sector Z - Has a Melee equivalent in Corneria.
- Planet Zebes - Also has a Melee equivalent, but I'd still love seeing both of these back.

Melee:
- Ice Mountain - This stage always sucked, don't care.
- Mushroom Kingdom - The version from 64, plus Mushroom Kingdom 2 from Melee, are both included anyways.
- Mute City - Should be included.
- Flat Zone - Flat Zone X from Wii U is included and I can't tell the difference.
- Poke Floats - Should be included.

Brawl:
- Rumble Falls - The Brawl version of shitty Ice Mountain.
- Pictochat - Would love if this came back.
- Flat Zone 2 - Flat Zone X  from Wii U is included and I can't tell the difference.

3DS:
- Pac-Maze - Should be included.
- Rainbow Road - Should be included.

Wii U:
- Jungle Hijinx - Would love if this came back.
- Pyrosphere - Worst part of the stage was fucking Ridley and hazards can be turned off now, so no issues with this stage, but I understand why they wouldn't bring it back now that he's a full character.
- Woolly World - Another stage that was fine and I'd enjoy seeing return.
- Orbital Gate Assault - A fun stage but a bit bland.
- Miiverse - Basically Battlefield with graffiti. Don't care.

Overall, there's no "OMG I NEED THIS" stage I'd like to see anymore now that Fountain of Dreams is back. Poke Floats is probably closest and only because I know others who would be excited. What an incredible achievement -- 103 stages, goddamn.

I got Ridley and K. Rool to lord over you. But we can both share Simon and Richter.

Hopefully some Pokemon you hate shows up and Geno still gets ignored (not exclusive to you, i'd love to laugh at Geno fans) for me to bathe in salt :rejoice

Lol there's no Pokemon I hate -- except Froslass, and I already think she's in a Pokeball.

Simon is gr8 8)

I'm wondering if this will get any upcoming Gen 8 Pokemon.

Nah I doubt it'll be Gen 7. Who knows though.

Gens 1, 2, 4, and 6 have playable representation. I think they'd skip to Gen 8.

Dark Samus is the first playable Smash character to have originated in the US! :usacry

Rare nabs the UK the other 2.5 non-Japanese slots.

They're basically fully remaking all the Melee stages (especially the backgrounds.) Some look much better (Jungle Japes, Corneria, Yoshi's Island, Planet Zebes), some look a little worse with the new lighting (I'm a bit fond for the more evenly lit versions of Temple, Brinstar Depths and Yoshi's Story), and others look basically the same just in higher res (aside from the backgrounds.)

Corneria almost looks TOO good compared to the old version. :lol Mushroom Kingdom 2 is almost unrecognizable, but I really dig the more faithful retro take on it.

No matter how they look though, I'm glad they're all in the game. Especially Fountain of Dreams. :heartbeat

- Sakurai (apparently correctly?) predicted no one would know who Richter is (I haven't even played the non-NES games and I know who he is :confused)
- Chrom was requested in Japan, Dark Samus overseas (duh)
- Echo fighers require more work than people assume
- Same for the key art for every character + 8 costume variations
- Porting over certain older stages took over a year of development work, due to how much they're bumping them up (see my previous post)
- Making Battlefield and Omega forms of stages isn't as easy as people may think either (which makes me personally lean towards "300+" being a more accurate stage count than "103")
- Ultimate's music takes up 25% of the space of Smash 4's, despite having many more tracks, due to improvements in compression tech (there is supposedly no loss of quality either, for the record)
- Some BS about kendo/judo influencing the Squad Strike mode
- Final Smash meter was specifically highlighted as being influenced by traditional fighting games
- They're using the Smash 4 DLC survey when deciding which new characters to include (Ridley and K. Rool were the near the top IIRC, possibly the highest ranking ones that didn't get implemented in Smash 4)

No Dixie hurts but that's such a minor complaint on such a ridiculous roster.

Shadow instead of Tails or someone better makes sense in terms of marketing and probably "impact," but I'm not 100% satisfied with that either. But like I said, small potatoes. :P
