Listening to NPR and suddenly there's a fucking ANIMAL CROSSING segment.

"Uh, is that animal crossing music?"

Probably as shocking as a few weeks ago when they had a segment on sonic and the prevalence of game culture.

What’s a good number to sell stalks at?

I blew my load at around 150 bells today, but I’m not sure if I was being a chickenshit, or made a good trade.

If you’re not gonna check other islands, it’s decent, if you’re really playin the game, the numbers go a lot higher.

I think I’m just going to roll my profits into next week, so I’ll look for a better price then.

When I was playing NL and had to do the stalk market solo because everyone else abandoned the game after 6 months (not bitter...), yeah, I'd usually sell at 150+, but it depended on the trend I was on. Compared to what I'm doing in NH, I played much much smaller amounts, but over a longer period. If you play the long game, you'll make hella bank pulling a >=50% profit every week. 8)

I think I’m just going to roll my profits into next week, so I’ll look for a better price then.

That's also what I did. Usually reinvest a third to half of my haul into next week.

So, not really following/reading this thread because I don't want to spoil myself with all the nice stuff other people already have.

Wonderful game for playing 20 minutes before going to bed btw.

Just a noob question:

I need iron ore for the shop. Since mining that was slow I read up on it and apparenty you can mine up to 8 items from a stone if you do it correctly (like doing it quickly and without hitting air in between). I was like wtf because i got like 3 items on average, most of which wasn't iron ore. At my current pace it would have taken me like a week to mine the iron.

So I wouldn't have suspected such a mechanic, is there more like this that I should know? Hidden mechanics that can have big input on your progress. Because otherwise it's a bit slow right know.

It's actually easier in this game than previous games. Set yourself up close and take two hits with your shovel, then walk a little towards the rock and take two more hits.

If you can't get 7 resources, then set yourself up and dig holes behind you. That will prevent you from bouncing out of range.

Yup that's the same one I'm missing. Well that and Wobbling Zipper Toy, but you get that after crafting the other items which I haven't done yet.

Yeah, I can usually get 8 without needing to dig wholes or use "secret techniques." You just have to be quick and not mess up.

Other secret techniques? Hmm, can't really think of any, other than in general if you're lacking resources you should take a Mystery Tour. :)

They definitely scrapped it from the initial release and missed a line 👀

But considering how frequently they've already updated the game, and what we know of their holiday release plans (seems monthly or bimonthly), who can say what the future holds 👀

DLC pipe dream: I want cute lil vehicles please lol. Like just give me a row boat, go kart, etc

Go ahead and take a little more from minecraft and let us do our own train tracks and have a cute little train that goes around town.

More interactive stuff in general is what I hope for. Do more with other people, too. Like group mystery tours, big time needed.

Vehicles would be such a huge change for the series. I could see them doing it, Zelda added a fucking motorbike, but it'd probably be an expansion pass type thing I would think...

Also I think I figured out the high-end/rare/end-game furniture set out? The zodiac one. In addition to big/small star fragments you can get zodiac fragments it seems like. Right now I'm getting Aries because I assume it's that part of the year... So to get the full set (all 12) you have to play every month of the year I think?

Also the reqs to make it are ridic but that's the point I guess.

So jealous my villager Julian has like the full set in his house. :o

[close]

My (mostly) lovely neighbors, in order of when they moved in:

Dom

This guy tries to be a jock so hard but he can't escape his adorkable fluffy-ball exterior. He's my ACNH BFF (and maybe something more? jk... unless??? :-[) and I just want to hug him and hold his hand forever. :heartbeat

Pashmina

Pashmina was one of my OGs from New Leaf, but she left Serres to travel the world. Funny we should wind up on the same island together all these years later. As one of my first two ACNH villagers, we've only deepened our friendship since New Leaf. She's indispensable for fashion tips and island goss, too. :heart

Rodeo

I hate this guy. He's made multiple of my villagers upset, dissed my fashion the second day he knew me, and is way too full of himself. I call him a vampire but I wish he really was, just so he'd burst into dust after walking around in daylight. :maf If I get the Amiibo cards for my GC BFFs Bunnie and Hopper, this dude is toast. :bolo

Sprinkle

The island ditz, Sprinkle can charm me and make me shoot soda out my nose in the same dialog box. I gave her her own special home placement -- the only house on the second tier of Ohana Isle, and secluded behind the hot springs to boot. :)

Ellie

I had a bad experience with the only other elephant in one of my towns, Opal, but I was trying not to discriminate... :mike

I'm glad I didn't because Ellie is a true sweetheart. Oddly, she can be a bit blunt and oblivious to others, causing several of the other girls to lose their cool after talking to her, but Ellie's never been anything more than a good friend to me. :D

Julian

I was a bit apprehensive about this unicorn bloke moving in... seemed like a bit of a weirdo, and also series-wise a bit too outside the "normal" realm of animals. And despite being male, he's more on top of the fashion scene than anyone else on the island. (Not that there's anything wrong with that. :whatsthedeal) I had to give him props for his house though, a full set of end-game zodiac furniture.

Over time I've warmed up to him more and more, and I look forward to talking with him now.

Rocco

Unlike a lot of people I know, I'm not immediately put off by the gruffer villagers. In fact a lot of the time, after you get to know them, talking to them is more my speed than the cheery ones (for the most part.) This comes from my GameCube BFF Hopper being a similar tsundere archetype. :heart But for Rocco, even though I made a point to talk to him every day, he wanted to move out after less than a week!! :o I was heartbroken. Clearly he's more of a softy than I expected, so I've been changing up how I interact with him. So far so good! If he wants to move away again after this, I won't stop him, but I did not want to let him leave us after barely getting to know us.

Diana

Reminds me of the Pokemon Diancie. She's a sweetheart with a killer pink bathroom furniture set... A bit meek but very thoughtful.

Camofrog

My weed dealer. He's great. :itagaki

Bob

How's Annie? How's Annie?! HOW'S ANNIE?!?
