https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/07/animal_crossing_glitch_prevents_players_from_walking_across_their_zen_bridges

We got our first 1.3 glitch discovered already boyyyyssss

Extremely weird it seems to just be Zen Bridges... Guess I'm safe since I only have Stone Bridges, but sucks for anyone affected. 😟

Speaking of 1.3, this was fixed in today's 1.3.1 update.

Will this fishing tournament have new prizes or the same prizes as the last tournament?

Also, I may be stupid for just discovering this, but villagers can give recipes twice a day, once in the morning and once at night

Got gold! I guess points persist across tournies cause I hit "300 points" after only getting ~100 today, which tracks since I got around 200 and silver last time (when I was salty lol.)

But I put my game to sleep with my gate open and it soft crashed and I think I still got gold but now I don't know for sure and I'm nervous. :lol

My museum still has my three new donations from today (only 10 left total!!) so I probably still am getting the gold trophy, but I won't know for sure until tomorrow... 😬

Damn I'm not sending my Switch in for SHIT until Dream Suite / Cloud Backup gets here.

Thinking now it was the right choice to move ACNH from SD to internal storage, although actually... I wonder what the failure rate for the internal memory is vs. the SD card reader. :-\

Ugh thinking about this happening to anyone is a giant fucking bummer. All the stuff we traded. :(

I still have all our times together in photo/video form, but goddamn... goddamn...

Part of me is slightly holding out hope that they can still somehow get your data from their servers... Changing your passport pic updates it everywhere even without you traveling or opening your gate... But it's an extreme long shot...

I'm at 50k and I don't even bother some days. Only reason to go to the kiosk is to find the KK songs I don't have and Isabelle continually telling me I have too much shit laying around on my island to get 5 stars

The only reason I enter Town Hall anymore is to dump bells into the ABD (where's *that* app?)

I'm at like 120k+ miles lmao, I'm thinking a few months down the road they gotta give us something extra to do with them. (Maybe spend miles to get a particular kind of weather on a certain day? Shit like that.)

Animal Crossing’s next summer update adds dreaming and cloud saves

Quote

The promised second summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is coming very soon, and it brings with it some exciting changes. According to Nintendo, the two big gameplay additions are the ability to dream and new fireworks shows. Meanwhile, for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, a cloud backup system is also coming so you won’t lose your island.

For dreaming, Nintendo says players will be able to take a nap in any bed in their house. “While dozing off, you may find yourself in a strange realm where you’ll be greeted by Luna,” the company explains. “Luna offers visits to other islands as a dream, and with her help, you can share your island as a dream with others too. She will grant those who share their island a ‘Dream Address’ which players can exchange and use to visit each other’s island in a dream. In dreams, nothing is permanent because nothing you do is saved, so explore to your heart’s content.”

The fireworks shows will be a regular occurrence, meanwhile, taking place every Sunday evening in August at 7PM local time. Players will be able to buy raffle tickets during these events to earn prizes.

Perhaps the biggest part of the update, though, is the long-requested option for players to back up their islands via cloud saves. Here’s how Nintendo describes the feature:

Nintendo Switch Online members can enable the new island backup service, which automatically uploads island and user save data to the internet at certain times. If your Nintendo Switch system is lost or damaged, you may be able to recover your island paradise as long as you’ve enabled island backup. In the event of loss or damage, contact Nintendo Consumer Support about restoring the island and user save data on your new or repaired Nintendo Switch system. After your island data and individual player data is restored, you can get back to building your island community.

The company also says that “a function specific to Animal Crossing: New Horizons to move users and save data to another system is planned for later this year. Details will be announced in the future.”

This will be the second major summer update for the game, following the recent addition of swimming. The update will be available starting on July 30th, and the company also teased a fall update for the future.

Would be great if they add this kind of back-up feature to Splatoon 2, too.

It's taking the best parts of NL and reincorporating them into NH but making it less tedious AND way prettier. 😍

Like instead of going to a specific "shop" to do Dream Suite stuff you just use your own bed (and possibly *any* bed on your island??)

Automatic cloud backups for NSO subscribers is a dream come true too. 😍

Finally, it's been like 14 months since they first were like "Yeah this won't support cloud backup..." at E3 2019 to "Maybe we'll do it" in November last year, to "it's coming" earlier this year, to "IT'S HERE!" Been a long road and I'm so happy we have cloud backups now. 😍 😍 😍

It was cool seeing winter. I really like his pathways were set up to make his town square look bigger.

His house is amazing, towering over the island.

Broke in to check out his bathroom too. Very fancy! But again so many toilets haha.

Early game it’s just about familiarizing yourself with the systems. Work on your nook mile goals, hit all the rocks, plant the money tree, get your recipes, check in with the daily visitor, etc. while you’re going about your island catch bugs and fish along the way. Early goals I would say get your house expanded a bit and fill out your museum with any new critters you find. But there is no rush, your loan has no interest and can be paid back whenever you feel like it. It can take a while but you will eventually build up a routine and build up your crafting recipes, and then you can start planning and developing your island

Cool cool. I like catching bugs so far, have a big collection despite the museum still being under construction.

You need to open your island/they open theirs to visit either by opening to everyone or sending you a code. Then you can become in game friends.

They just added a feature though where you can visit someone elses island in a dream if they're not around though.

You actually have to visit their islands if you want to be able to send mail to each other/interact though, dreaming is just for looking around. I was in Pilonv’s dream and wanted  his lucky gold cat recipe, but it said you can’t learn recipes in dreams. (Which is bullshit because of how often my villagers say the idea for their recipes came in a dream  :lol )

If you need some resources let me know and I can stop by later today if you want.
