This thread is INSANE. How can anyone handwave the employee's action and try to blame the op?

People like you are the worst. Treating service workers like shit and step all over them thinking you are better than them. God I hated every moment working as a Deli Clerk because people turn into monsters when they know they can get away with it.

I'm assuming you never made a mistake in your life and are a 100% perfect. That's what customers expect out of you anqd if you are anything less than that in their minds that gives them a ticket to treat you as an emotional punching bag.

It's hard for me to judge this situation since obviously i wasn't there in person. I was okay with the initial request, but the reaction afterward was not warranted. Years of being treated like subhuman dirt make me jump to the worst conclusion sadly. :/

I mean, I had a rough day and I literally said "please" when I asked him to change his gloves and the bread, I didn't yell at him or anything or say it in some demeaning "commanding" type of voice, literally was just like " could you please change your gloves?" and then "Can I get new bread please?"

He sighed (like intentionally and loudly) with a head shake when I asked for the new bread,, and when I said forget it, again I didn't yell it or stomp my feet or anything, I just said in a normal voice "that's ok, forget it" then just walked out.

I just didn't want to deal with someone who was obviously annoyed at me, I just wanted to get out of the situation, I'm not good in social situations (get super nervous) and things like that on the spot just drive my anxiety way up.

You know what they should ask?

"Who is the worst candidate on this stage"

Follow-up:

"You all unanimously agreed that it is Gillibrand. How does a leach like her enter the conversation and what should the Democratic Party do to prevent it from happening again?"

I just dont understand the issue. His voters went to Hilary. He stumped for Hilary once he felt the race needed to be conceded (even if he ran longer than others wanted him to). It just has no tangible effect on anything so it just seems silly to dwell on that or to single him out rather than anyone else.
That's not enough. Bernie outright radicalised his supporters then did the minimum to bring them back, if he bothered at all. He's not big on de-escalation. Imagine Bernie had being able to heal the rift between himself, Hillary and the party to the maximum.

We're dwelling on that because its his recent past, he deserves to be called out on his history. If he didn't want that he should have passed the torch to Warren. That's on him, it's his legacy.

Quote
If he wants to be an old man yelling at clouds once he loses let him.
Last time we did we got Trump. No thanks.
Quote from: Ichthyosaurus
Just put me on ignore. You've clearly bought into Bernie's normalising radicalising his supporters. Thank Bernie for helping give us 4 years of Trump.
Quote
LMAO you have the weirdest takes
The normalisation Bernie did with radicalising his supports has been ongoing since '16, but you don't want to see it.
Quote
This is ridiculous.
It's the truth.
Quote
He didn't have to do shit after he dropped out and yet he stumped for Hillary and ~90% of his voters went to her in the general. Never in the 20 years I've been voting have I ever seen someone have to be on "healing duty" after conceding a primary, and yet not only did he do that to 90% efficacy, it's "not enough" to people like you. Seriously, let's just see how many of the 20 candidates we've met over the last two night you hold to this absolute bullshit standard a year and a half from now.
It is, in fact, every losing candidates' job to deescalate tensions between the groups so they can merge their followers into the winner's coalition. That's the absolute peak the nominee needs before entering the general, and it's why people want the primaries to end sooner rather than later so the recovery period gets the right amount of time so everyone's backing the winner 100%. Bernie never did that, he did the minimum and the party's meant to pretend like nothing bad happened. It's why the rift between the left and others barely take any sparks to cause going for throat infighting.

Normally it doesn't get as bad as what Bernie did, either. That's a big problem he never learnt how to accomplish.

He didn't do it anywhere near 90% efficiency in proportion to what he unleashed on the Democratic party in '16. That it's not enough people like me is a problem, I'm on your side here. Bernie doesn't care that he set up circumstances that we must be enemies because he couldn't get off his ass to heal wounds he opened. He saddled all that with Hillary then act shocked she wasn't able to fix the impossible situation he put her in.

The rest of those candidates didn't do this in '16, Bernie did. That's his legacy to bear.
Quote from: Ichthyosaurus
Radicalising that youth against the Dems won't help anyone, except Republicans. The party and their candidates are flawed, and some even corrupt, but that's how to cut off the party from the next generation not recruiting them. Ideals don't go anywhere when the party who's the most inclined to do them don't have those voters on board.

Quote from: Royalan
It's not so much about what Bernie did after, it's about what he did during.

I'm not even speaking as a Hillary fan right now (because honestly that shit is tired. Hillary's not running this year, Bernie is). Bernie campaigned on Hillary Clinton being inherently corrupt and a part of an inherently corrupt system. The soundbites are in abundance.

When you spend close to a year getting your supporters to believe that, it's hard to come around in the end and get them to rally around her. The soil's already been salted.

Demanding reform Bernie style has barely moved the needle. And he sat on his ass for 20 years before bringing it to national attention.

And it never will unless he comes up with a new schtick because the old material isn't working.
Quote from: Ichthyosaurus
Did any put out hit lists to target politicians like Bernie's? Did Hillary herself encourage conspiracy theories among her followers that the DNC rigged the election for Obama?
Quote from: Ichthyosaurus
This isn't about running, this is about winning and losing properly so the Dem nominee can get the edge required in the general, rather than having them bleeding on the floor than throwing them at Donald Trump.

It's not a conspiracy it is the truth. Our intelligence agencies have been saying this since 2016. Robert Mueller was on national television a month ago stating that Russia is attacking our political systems. It is quite clearly spelt out that they influenced and heavily influenced Brexit. This is spreading throughout Europe. A month ago Austria's government collapsed because a Neo Nazi party was elected in charge and they were all ousted to have been in bed with Russian Oligarchs. Steve Bannon, who helped get Trump elected with his Cambridge Analytica company, preaches about a new world order. This same Steve Bannon has now moved on to Europe influencing numerous elections and even forming a Brexit party in many non-British, European nations. This isnt a conspiracy. He is in bed with the richest Russians and they are interested in more money. If they fracture and split up the US and Western European alliances then they can more easily take over surrounding eastern European countries as well as make more money.
follow the money (back to Serbia, through Poland)

Quote from: Ichthyosaurus
There were more than Russian bots as Bernie stans in '16. How does this explain the infamous Bernie Bro who was making hit list on the DNC? This ignores Bernie and his staff's insistence to encourage this among is own followers then and now.
Quote
So on one hand Bernie is completely unrealistic and can never pull off his ambitions which would upset and disrupt tons of people within politics. On the other hand, he should also be satisfied with what he has and stop now that he has momentum and a growing movement within politics. After the 2016 election there were many Democrats, including Kamala, that started working with him on creating bills. Hillary made concessions and also adopted a few of the things he preached about in his campaign. Now we have a whole field of candidates spouting the same stuff as him in this election cycle.
It comes a point when one man must stop and pass the torch to others, if the movement can't survive without him at this stage he hasn't provided them with the proper opportunity long term to begin with. His work is done, he can still do work in the senate and advise, of course. There's Warren competing now, let the old man rest. Why wouldn't be be satisfied by what he's done? His momentum isn't guaranteed and he's in a tougher ride with this outing, as his ideas have been taken and expanded upon by the field (aside from Biden) and he's not so unique any longer. This isn't '16. Which is as much a case for him to retire than stay in because he's a man, and things won't be so friendly like they are now. It can get a whole lot worse and knowing his history he has much a chance to sabotage the progress made unless he wins somehow. And that is not a guarantee.
Quote
I'm curious if he kept going, if he could continue to get more people within politics supporting his policies. He sounds like a broken cassette drilling in the same information but that same strategy somehow worked with Fox News and brainwashed who knows how many people.
You wanted to give Hillary less time to form her coalition before the general? How would that help the Dems defeat Trump? Bernie's tactics help with his socialist brigade, it hasn't proven to be as affect on the national scale as he needs to win. He's for the Young Turks and various leftist You Tubers, pod casters and magazines like Jacobin in his corner but that's a blip on the radar to Fox news alone.

I think more ResetERA.com events is a great idea. A roast could be fun. As the moderator bans each participant they could insult them in some socially acceptable way or maybe jokingly say #CANCELLED as they ban them or something equally appropriately humorous as agreed upon by staff while the participant users are being banned.

What do you mean have events without the hook being banning users? How would those be fun events for the community?

Roast targets should probably be the people with the highest post counts, as they by definition must be the most prominent members of the community, and given people with low post counts are frequently looked down upon as though their contributions are worthless
