Don't do Crunch.
But don't delay.
But don't have shitty graphics.
But don't have 4 hours of content.
But don't have a 900 people team.
Now get to work.
Technically, this circle could be squared by not announcing until it's in cert.
Hype cycle is important though, so...
Hold up, "Industry secrecy" is another common complaint i see thrown around, especially by people that love leaks (or that leak for financial/personal gain, like Jason Schreier).
My point of course isn't to defend crunch, or any of the individual points, but just to point out how vapid the whole "oh noo, poor devs and their crunch!", when they've been notoriously bitching about any other scenario that would entail working less hours per day.
Then again, people on GAF claimed the next crash was around the corner, when houses like Rockstar and Ubisoft started to use 1000 people per game, but it seems they're still going strong for now.
Infact, the two biggest games i can think of, Fortnite and GTAV, both seemed to demand an absurd amount of man power to keep the quality/update rhythm that made them successful.
