Quick search suggests they have openly discussed cancer risks in the Transgender 101 thread on Resetera.

did they give it a pretty fair analysis or does it seem to have been downplayed

I honestly don’t see how resetera can hope to compete with this shit. The future is mad racist, but it’s also lovely, soft, and round.

that thread was a fucking dumpster fire from the moment the OP decided to equate that vote to a new holocaust.
Which the mods removed all reference to that, being, you know, inflammatory, disingenuous, false equivalence and bad faith.

I absolutely hate how the average dullard in AmeriKKKa equates the totality of slavery with it being a racist institution when that is only true for AmeriKKKan chattel slavery. Like there are many instances of slavery throughout history that have nothing to do with race being a factor, such as in the SPQR or other ancient civilizations. It was a class dynamic, period. Or if one tribe conquered another tribe of the same race, they would enslave them. I made this point to someone IRL and was punched in the face. In fact, "racism" and the total obsession with "race" is, quite frankly, a modernist invention and to apply it to ancient civilizations or antiquity is intellectually dishonest.

Leftists hate facts.

This is kind of a silly distinction... generally if someone is talking about Slavery in the US it should be assumed that they're talking about the slavery that took place here that was rooted in racism.

I mean, in what context do you have to make the distinction specifically between early USA slavery and SPQR slavery?

The victor always feels superior over the losing side so even if slavery at first has no intent based on race or ethnicity it always boils down to one group feeling superior over another group and all the power balances that come into play.
So slavery and racism always end up meeting each other.

The amount of male feminism in that thread is disturbing; I wonder how many unconvicted rapists posted there. Also it's funny they picked on Rich when Mike is the only one who's actually a rightoid. And Jay always tries to put in SJW talking points probably to prevent this shit from happening.
yes, this is how I've always perceived them, Rich is mostly apolitical, Mike is clearly a libertarian idealist, not the Jay is a SJW thing though (maybe more soft liberal, in any case I'd place him to "the left" (ironic) of the others but not noticeably so, rather more that he's more "aware" of such things)

I've always thought collectively of RLM as an inverse Trey and Matt, whereas Trey and Matt's response to politics is "WE DON'T CARE AND THIS IS HOW MUCH WE DON'T CARE FOR TWENTY YEARS ON END" the fascist RLM can actually not talk about American party politics of the moment and it only draws their attention when it truly intersects with their media consumption, Ghostbusters was such because the counter-counter-protest by the studio and Paul Feig was decidedly to lean into the "you're sexist Trump supporters" angle (I found out interestingly in an article recounting the whole disaster of the Ghostbusters studio/universe plan that Melissa McCarthy disliked this, being a long time fan of the cartoon series, and some of the other aspects of the "reboot" but she ultimately had no pull against the force of Feig/Wiig combined)

I'd love to read that article and what they were planning for GHOST CORPS®.

Pretty much.

That said, I will say one thing in terms of slavery and race that might be surprising if you don't already know it: The actual word 'slave' derives from the word Slav, as in the Slavic people. Slavs were quite commonly taken as 'slaves' by Muslim Arabs during the middle ages. So rather ironically the word 'slave' itself is taken from the enslavement of white people during the middle ages.

Brie Larson’s funbags, whilst perfectly acceptable, are not up the standards of the instathots in that thread. If those pedestrian pictures from earlier were posted they would be rightfully met with scorn as the agenda behind posting them would be immediately obvious.

Imagine thinking a boob thread sans nudity is good curation.
It’s a boob thread. I want to see boobs in various delightful not-big-enough outfits, with a good amount of jiggle. Full nudity is not necessary.

Sometimes you want to savour a well presented starter, not shoot for the main course.

Phrases omitted from this post include ‘badly packed kebab’ and ‘beef curtains’.
Needing nudity to enjoy big tits shows a distinct lack of imagination.

The term slave has its origins in the word slav. The slavs, who inhabited a large part of Eastern Europe, were taken as slaves by the Muslims of Spain during the ninth century AD. Slavery can broadly be described as the ownership, buying and selling of human beings for the purpose of forced and unpaid labour.

Well, yeah. There were many European slave traders. I think most of them ended up in the Muslim world though.

They were known as the Saqaliba

Quote
Ṣaqāliba (Arabic: صقالبة, sg. ṣaqlabī) is a term used in medieval Arabic sources to refer to Slavs and other peoples of Central and Eastern Europe, or in a broad sense to European slaves. The term originates from the Middle Greek slavos/sklavenos (Slav), which in Hispano-Arabic came to designate first Slavic slaves and then, similarly to the semantic development of the term in other West-European languages, foreign slaves in general.[1] The word is often misused to refer only to slaves from Central and Eastern Europe,[2] but it refers to all Europeans and others traded by the Arab traders during the war or peace periods.[3]

Oh yeah.

Quote
In Imperial Russia in the first half of the 19th century one third of the population were serfs, who like slaves in the Americas, had the status of chattels and could be bought and sold. They were finally freed in 1861 by Emperor Alexander II. Four years later slavery was abolished in the southern states of America following southern defeat in the American Civil War.

most Slavic slaves were imported to the Muslim world through the border between Christian and Islamic kingdoms where castration centres were also located instead of the direct route. From there they were sent into Islamic Spain and other Muslim-ruled regions especially North Africa. The saqaliba gained popularity in Umayyad Spain especially as warriors. After the collapse of the Ummayads, they also came to rule over many of the taifas. With the conversion of Eastern Europe, the trade declined and there isn't much textual information on saqaliba after 11th century.[4]

From an old BBC page by the looks of it. The dimensions of the page are all fucked now. lol

Geographically that doesn't make as much sense to me, but I'll take the beeb's word for it.

most Slavic slaves were imported to the Muslim world through the border between Christian and Islamic kingdoms where castration centres were also located instead of the direct route.
