Great boob thread though. Those cats know how to curate a nice set of knockers, gotta give 'em that.

For those thinking EviLore is still raking in the cash.

NeoGAF, approx # of posts for June of the given year (measured from June 2 - July 1st since web archive didn't have 6/1 for this year)

2017:  1,226,198
2019: 108,673

And for reference;  I ran a forum years back that had adsense, we were approximately as active as NeoGAF is today.  Would have easily cleared 100k posts during E3 month, had a rank of about 14k on Alexa, etc.  My monthly payout from AdSense was anywhere from like $200-600.

Granted, EviLore has a forum with 100+ million other posts of content, my forum was new, he has better SEO than I did, has other avenues of income like referral links that I didn't have set up, etc... but if you think he's making a good living off of NeoGAF in the year of our lord 2019, I have news for you... you have to get REALLY active before the payouts start getting large for an AdSense forum, and I'm also pretty sure switching to XenForo completely screwed his SEO of his old content as he wasn't smart enough to handle the fact all of the URLs for the forum changed.

thinking with your massive dong again, completely forgetting the sweet 50 bucks he pulls in on gaf gold subs every month

i bet you're just jelly of his success story with turning the ship around after the night of long daggers in his poor innocent back

I mean I get it but everyone seems to agree that on top of having them on the cover, the Sims is pretty far ahead on representation and offering gender and orientation options, and yet a lot of the thread read sarcastic and negative. It's hard to shake the impression that even if they had a gay male couple, people would nitpick them being not diverse / fat / ugly / include your own here enough. It's not that people should feel placated by this but the way some of the complaints are worded end up being it's own kind of insulting to lesbians.

But how do you depict that without being deeply transphobic.

Quote from: Spyware
This thing also comes just a month after Maxis made a huge mistake with their last patch, the one that added a bunch of Pride stuff in collaboration with the It Gets Better Project. There is a flag you can hang on the wall now that comes in many different variations. Gay pride, trans pride, asexual pride and so on. But at first, there was no lesbian flag option, they were completely overlooked. I learned a lot from the discussions that happened after that in regards to how lesbian women feel about representation and how the rest of the LGBTQ+ community reacted to it (which I would describe with a word like "flippant" maybe). There is a huge problem with hand-waving away the need for actually good lesbian representation. Much of what we get is fetishized stuff ment for the male gaze.

yeah, I don't get why some people are all "Oh, I wonder what Das NeuGaffen think about homosexual marriage".
It's like "Wow, I just had really unpleasant diarrhea, I'd better stick my head in the bowl and find out if it smells as bad as I think it does".

Era are constantly hilarious in a Mr Bean Tries To Do A Simple Task kind of way, in watching how badly they fuck up something so seemingly simple.
"Oh, the ACLU are dog-whistling white supremacists because they fought for the freedom of speech rights for a group they clearly share zero ideological ground with? Okay."

User Banned (3 Days): Inflammatory modwhining, accumulated infractions.

Man. I had to just hit ignore on the Etc thread. And the OP, too, who was so thirsty to make sure every complaint got a new threadmark. As the thread descended into a dogpile and banfest it just got really difficult to stomach.

I'm hoping that if I can just use the ignore list feature I can enjoy the site a bit more than I have been, but it seems like toxic behavior by people who are ideologically aligned with the moderation's positions is bound to go unchecked, while crossing the moderation's personal beliefs will pretty much catch you a ban one way or another - usually because of the assertion that such disagreement constitutes "defending sexism," or "dismissing racism," no matter how careful the person is to say that they abhor sexist and racist actions they believe are happening, they just don't believe it is happening in this case. "Drive-by" is one that only comes out if you're not in lock-step, despite dozens of completely disingenuous, unsubstantiated, dismissive one-liners that are on the preferred side of a discussion flying by with no problem; it's a good catch-all if the mods just want to hit mute on someone who isn't down with the position being taken.

This is not to say RLM is above criticism, but the discussion is never about criticizing a thing someone said, it's a rush to make a broader judgement call on who the person is. In that kind of environment it is really difficult to make this case that "I don't think they're that kind of person - here's why," even though that's the exact question being begged when the OP begins a crusade to cancel someone. And it's difficult because going there to make the discussion about the kind of person they are is engaging more with the general than the specific complaint, which treads into appearing to "handwave" or "dismiss" or "defend."

I love how progressive this place is - the political threads are really fun for me for that reason, this is all just about the toxicity of the discussion trajectory that happens time and again and how moderation enables it. I don't notice it so much when the target is something I'm less familiar with, or if I agree unreservedly in the takedown in progress. In the case of RLM, it disturbed me quite a bit.

Female to Male is actually a death sentence. It comes with a 100% chance of cancer.

It's one of those forbidden facts that people don't like to bring up during trans discussion.

Quote
Without going into personal reasons, I was heavily researching the subject and the info was all out there. There were LOTS of medical papers about it.

This is genuinley freaking me out. It's like it's all be scrubbed from the internet or something :/ Feel like I'm in a Twilight Zone episode or something.

Google must have Mandela Effect'd away the LOTS of medical papers that transitioning 100% guarantees you to get cancer. :thinking

The conspiracy theory that the entire left which they think includes big tech is super pro-trans to the point they suppress articles about transitioning giving people cancer is both idiotic and insane.

Why would someone pro-trans want to suppress info about cancer risks?

Because trans people want to convert everyone and brainwash them into transition.

The conspiracy theory that the entire left which they think includes big tech is super pro-trans to the point they suppress articles about transitioning giving people cancer is both idiotic and insane.

Why would someone pro-trans want to suppress info about cancer risks?

Did you forget that my "listen to your medical doctor" advice got me banned for transphobia?

What does that have to do with my statement?

Resetera does not represent the left, certainly not the left-leaning people in big tech.

he means that they'd ignore the cancer warnings

I don't disagree that ERA self appointed minorities spokepersons™ do have a tendency to circle the wagons up to outright rejecting facts and science. But it's a far cry from conspiracy.

Neogaf is so grotesque it’s not even enjoyable to mock them anymore.
Great boob thread though. Those cats know how to curate a nice set of knockers, gotta give 'em that.

Ass thread or GTFO

There you go.

I honestly don’t see how resetera can hope to compete with this shit. The future is mad racist, but it’s also lovely, soft, and round.

Quick search suggests they have openly discussed cancer risks in the Transgender 101 thread on Resetera.

did they give it a pretty fair analysis or does it seem to have been downplayed

I am going to co-opt that for my already long list of anti-dog rhetoric.

Thanks.
