A few people question the use of the word "weaponize"

Is this one of those alt right guys too?

No he is expressly the opposite. He actually praises The Last Jedi, but also employs genuine criticism.

These dumb motherfuckers.

lol

What constitutes 'alt-right' in these people's minds is getting more and more absurd. So now anything but blindly praising The Last-Jedi makes you suspect.

Back in a decade ago, when I was subbing for a class, a student (11-12 years old) earnestly told me how good Episode 1 was. Which just told me that it must be a generational thing.

The people who earnestly believe Episode 8 is good are the same way, that movie was made for them, I guess.

You know, I actually liked it more than I thought I would. But then that is damning it with faint praise. I watched the movie after hearing all the criticism so that none of it was a surprise to me. And I agree with most of the criticism. And so when I finally got around to watching it, I could just enjoy it in a dumb fun kind of way. lol

Need to re-watch before 9 comes out but I thought 8 was kind of a mess.  I think I only paid half attention to it though;  it lost my interest and I started playing a game on my phone.

The main thing I remember about episode 8 was that you could cut out the entire casino sequence(and about a half hour just dedicated to that part of the movie) and work out a 5 minute scene where the lockpicker character "DJ" gets introduced. I did get a personal kick on annoying my friend (who is a big Marvel movies mark) when the Collector shown up in Infinity War and calling him DJ from Star Wars.

The premise of that movie was just 'are you fucking kidding me'
Two giant ships chase each other at 5 mph. Suddenly some new tech is invented that allows the New Order indefinite tracking powers and the rebels lightspeed Kamikaze ships (and even that moment did not sway the outcome, nor killing the enemy leader).
At the end they celebrate "victory" with the 8 or so rebels left standing after all the main characters do dumb shit that gets most of their forces killed for no reason.

The entire movie could've not happened and it wouldn't have made any difference to where things stand between the end of TFA and the start of the upcoming film.
Except that 99% of the rebels are dead.

But they blew it anyway in the opening scene of TFA. After you destroy an entire system of planets and all the armies of the Republic there's nothing 'threatening'.
It would've been way cooler if the New Order was working in the shadows, fighting a guerrilla war, picking off senators or manipulating elections.

Actually the idea that you hit anything seems dumb, rather than entering some kind of other dimension, a wormhole, or something. The idea that you're just going really fast seems incredibly dangerous to me. And lightspeed would actually be really slow if you were travelling from galaxy to galaxy.

Holy shit that would be a fantastic Ree thread: "Should I tip white people if I'm a person of color?" Hey guys am I supporting the white oppression of POC if I tip my white driver guy? As an oppressed minority shouldn't I keep the tip as a form of reparations?

I want to see this happen. Not right now. Someone would tip off the fuzz.

From what I gathered you have to 'hit lightspeed' by activating the hyper drive so you need room to accelerate to reach lightspeed.
If you hit something before you go fast enough to travel through this other 'dimension' you obviously collide at a very high speed and die.

It would be really slow if you were going from solar system to solar system as well though. Alpha Centauri, which is said to be the nearest star from Earth, is 4.3 light years away. On a cosmic level lightspeed is really really slow.

What fucking browser does he use that doesn't have spell check

It's not the browsers fault.  It's Slayven's need to post his imagined expertise in fields from agriculture to rocket science as fast as possible as many times he can.  He's an uninformed maladroit who is talkative and constantly mentions how money is more important than knowledge.  It's strange that he doesn't vote for Trump.

You gotta like kids movies that "have something for daddy."

There's supposed to be a R rated cut of the original Scooby Doo movie that was way more raunchy and pervy because it was directed by James Gunn.

Quote
Scooby-Doo was a live-action film adaptation of the popular animated franchise of the same name, originally released on June 14, 2002, in the United States. However, there is a significant difference between the cut that was released and some of the content that was originally filmed for the movie.

Early in production, the film was intended to have a more satirical tone towards the original franchise as well as skew towards an older audience, with a PG-13 rating planned. The original script had a lesbian relationship subplot involving Velma and Daphne as well as multiple marijuana gags.

This original version of the film went far enough to get submitted to the MPAA, where it received an unexpected R rating, due to what James Gunn describes as "some line of dialogue the MPAA thought referred to oral sex." Shortly after this, the studio completely forced a change in direction on the tone of the film, now intent on getting a family-friendly PG rating.

Some original scenes in which the female characters exposed a significant amount of cleavage were re-edited with the cleavage CGI'd over for the final cut of the film.

Some minor adult humor remained in the final cut of the film, most notably a gag in which Shaggy meets a girl named "Mary Jane", to which his response is "Like, that is my favorite name."

While the original cut likely still exists somewhere, no footage has ever been released from it.

https://lostmediawiki.com/Scooby-Doo_(unreleased_R-rated_cut_of_live-action_film;_2002)

We could have gotten Velma and Daphne lezzing out.  :-*

I worked for Comcast in their call center for three days back when I was between school years in college.

I had to drive 45 minutes each way to that job and I hated every waking second of it. I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone or anything, I had to just sit at a desk and do the same menial shit non-stop for 8 hours a day with a half hour lunch break. And at some points they made me work the Spanish-only call line even though I don't speak any Spanish.

The morning of the third day, I got so stressed out on the drive to work that I tried to kill myself by driving off the highway at full speed before my body kicked in and stopped me.

I made it to work, then at lunch time I walked out and never went back.

I endured the best part of 4 years in a call centre selling health insurance. I saw a lot of people go through the month of training and practice calls then disappear after their first day of live calls.

It was a bad job but it wasn't even the worst contract in that particular call centre to be on in terms of customers.

In those four years I gained about 160lbs and developed a deep suicidal depression and sleep apnea which I'm still dealing with.

I work at a call center for a major automobile company and recently got promoted to a much more substantial role. Its honestly the best gig I've had.

This thread is making me question just how good I actually have it there

In 2017 I tried dish washer at Cracker Barrel and pizza boy at Papa Johns. Walked out on both on the second day.

Yea, I was hired at a restaurant inside Pearson international airport in Toronto (Terminal 1) called Wolfgang's Puck. I was hired as a cashier/customer service guy, but the manager asked me to clean tables, then during the afternoon he asked me to do the dishes. I was vegetarian at the time and cleaning dishes with meat stuck on them grossed me out. I told them I would be back tomorrow but I never went back.

My best story was a manager (and his friend who was a cook) kept making moves on me. When the manager got too far with some "palyful" touching, I immediatly walked to the cashier, lifted the tray where we keep 50's and 100's and took it all (in full view of the manager). I looked at him "This is mine. Do anything about it, I file a lawsuit." and walked out. It was $750. That sensation was better than sex on Sunday morning. I still think about it a lot.

I didn't walk out, but I kinda ghosted on an independent pharmacy back in May.

My boss (who is also a pharmacist) was a complete asshole, and I'm pretty certain something was actually wrong with him. I'm entirely certain he hired me just so he could fire the other pharmacist and the office manager, who were his son-in-law and daughter, respectively. While he was just generally a jerk, he seemed oddly rushed on my training, and then he tried to fire them soon after I started (he couldn't as he was only part-owner). This was in December, and as the months went on, he just started cutting back on my schedule and being shitty about it. I went from 3 days a week down to not even being called in the last two weeks, and he lied about my upcoming schedule and made last-minute changes frequently (while knowing that I had an 1.5 hr commute). Also while I knew about two guns in case something went wrong, there apparently was a gun(s) only he knew about. He was also just generally a jerk.

Anyway, the office manager (his daughter) calls me on a day off; the jerk called the cops to force the other pharmacist to leave (even though the jerk can't fire him). There was no reason to do so, but seriously, there's something wrong with this jerk. The other pharmacist handled the counting robot, ordering the medication, and the pharmacy software in general. Also, the office manager and all but one technician left following this, so the pharmacy was severely crippled by this. I never responded to my boss after this as I knew the only two outcomes would be either getting fired or having the cops called again. I learned just a few weeks ago that a classmate of mine had been hired after I left and was fired for no reason randomly one day, so I definitely made the right call. Sorry for going on so long and detailed with this.

Tl;dr boss was a complete jerk to everyone and the best option was to pretend he didn't exist.

Or you know... horrible employees, etc. There's two sides to this coin. I've worked enough retail jobs to see the ratio of shitty employees to shitty managers is heavily weighted to the employee side. And no, I've never been a boss on the retail side.
How do those boots taste?
