Many of the people we spoke to described ResetEra as an opportunity to redefine what moderation culture looks like from the ground up. Without worrying about Malka’s presence and reputation, they would be able to set their own rules and guidelines, operating under the internal rules they agreed upon in the earliest of planning stages.

...

“We see this as a fresh start and an opportunity to build our own moderation culture and aren't really looking for comparisons,” Shinobi602 said. “We hope to be genuinely fair minded, reasonable and transparent. We really want to shape a positive community for everyone. A few moderators may be familiar but for the most part the staff has no connection with other forum staff.”

This sort of pertains to the recent announcement of Bloodlines 2. Time and time again, when a major upcoming title starts releasing details before launch, the anti sjw types throw a shit-fit over something having to do with representation or sensitivity towards certain marginalized groups. I see it all over social media and youtube.

“Keep your politics out of my games!”

“This is total SJW nonsense!”

“Muh representation!”

What the hell do these people want exactly? For every game to feature straight white dudes exclusively? Because it seems like every time a new game is announced to veer away from that, it’s written off as “SJW”. Getting triggered over representation in games seems like a total waste of time to me, yet it’s practically it’s own YouTube genre. It feels like we’re getting less hyped for games anymore because we’re ready to point fingers all the time.

Do you think this will change in the future?

What's the deal with Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2? I can't keep up with this shit anymore.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2-taking-a-firm-political-progressive-stance-standing-for-lgbt-rights-mental-illness-representation.106919/

The reaction is imo kind of overblown. The writers have said some stuff about how important political messages and inclusion are but it's not really apparent yet how this will play out in the game. Maybe they'll go full blown social studies warrior by cutting features like madness or they'll just try to be more tactful. Right now we don't really know.

Yeah I saw what someone said in an interview posted on Kotaku but it mostly sounded like a generic PR answer. As long as the game is good who really gives a shit.

From my experience though, trying to appease the crazies and their infinite umbrella of exclusivity is a fools errand. We’ll see how it all shakes out I guess.

No one would tell Polygon when ResetEra is launching, as the site staff is still figuring it out. But early members noted that as of the time of this writing, the forum is gearing up to go live between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET — around the time of Nintendo’s latest Direct. The near-simultaneous occurrence of these events isn’t lost on the community, which told Polygon that the coincidence was almost poetic in nature. After suffering through the loss of a home, lost NeoGAF members getting a new Animal Crossing game to animatedly discuss with friends on a website built in the original forum’s image seemed just right.

As long as it’s good, but that atmosphere in the original is part of what made it so good. I’m leery about whether a writer on an inclusive mission can capture it again. I’m all for more inclusion, but not if it compromises the game, and put more focus on extraneous parts of it than the core game could do that. But like you said, we’ll see how it goes. Hoping for the best.

Isn't Captain "America" a little tone-deaf in this climate? What is he the captain of? Separating immigrant families? Taking women's rights away? Islamophobia?

Bad optics. Needs to be renamed to Captain Antifa imho.

I dont know if Turmp is smart enough to take complete power like other Fascists could, but, if I am a fascist, I am incredibly giddy because a competent one will take power so easily in America.
Yup. This doesn’t end with Trump. There is a life after Trump and someone more competent is around the corner taking notes, and people already giving up and losing hope stating they won’t vote are complicit in the rise of fascist governments.
So now they're worried about what the next guy might do with the power the current administration has acquired?

Is there a concept of the self-hating weeb, or is that an oxymoron?
Because if you're a massive weeb and are then getting mad that the foreign culture you adulate doesn't conform to your own cultures social mores, I don't know what to tell you.
Stop being such a weeb I guess.

You can like country music and still hate misogyny

when big titties is basically the only differentiator for not being pedobait... its more like being a huge country fan and not liking cowboy hats and boots

Except she's still wearing heavy armor, but now she looks ridiculous because she has exposed two of the most important arteries to swords while also wearing heavy armor on her upper body for protection.

Let's focus on realism while she fights a giant, topless mountain of meat

I like the origin of the femoral arteries complaint:

because their complaint was that she's exposing her femoral arteries by wearing shorts. We all know that pants would stop those bullets.
