I don't the article is very good or pertinent (we already joked about it) but that's not the point the author is making and what bothers her is the association between "overt undiscriminated sexuality <---> bisexuality <---> evil" (which is not unprecedented in fiction).

Saying she would have preferred no representation over this specific one is not the same as saying the character should have been in the closet. Though it's true that in a way she is advocating for toning it down, I guess.

I’ve had a Ring doorbell for a while now and I can absolutely vouch for this.


The neighborhood “alerts” are almost never actual suspicious behavior.  It’s a bunch of noise combined with scared white people who freak out when anyone brown has the audacity to ring their doorbells or even walk by.


I’m dead serious.  I’ve seen people post alerts because someone walked by their front door!   It’s the modern version of the old neighbors calling each other and complaining about “others”.


I want to get rid of Ring and move to an encrypted camera without all this nonsense.

I just got a Ring device a few weeks back and the neighborhood alerts I have gotten have been for legit crimes that have happened.  Nobody has said a word about race. 

I mean, Ring Alerts aren't near as bad as Nextdoor, that shit really is just white people being vaguely racist with little filter. Ring Alerts are (for the most part) innocuous or actual criminal activity in my experience.

2) That article is about the portrayal of a bi character in a game, and how they don't like the bi stereotype of "horny for everyone" is used
