It's possible to be a good artist and have unorthodox opinions. I'd say it's actually more likely because they will feel that much more strongly about it. Also it's obviously a bit unfair to extrapolate opinions from a tweet, considering she likes the film and all. Ever since its release there's been plenty of debates about Starship Troopers effectiveness as commentary. You could say the same about Basic Instinct (or Showgirls), it's maybe more parody than satire and it will probably be interesting to see how people view those films in a few decades when they'll be completely disconnected from the zeitgeist (though in Verhoeven's case I think that it's easy to get what's up and down if you watch some of his non American movies). Some film reviewers at the time already mistook it for Nazi apologia.

I'm pretty sure Logan is held in decent (or better) esteem on ERA so it's not an issue with having a drama twist to a superhero story.
I don't remember The Dark Knight, Watchmen and V for Vendetta triggering such preemptive moral panic and hand wringing despite being based on ambiguous, morally-conflicted source material (though when the Fawkes mask was adopted by Anonymous there was a somewhat similar and sudden realization that the symbol still had some edge and uncomfortable connotations.)
