Speaking purely as an observer: My faith in you, the people of america, couldn't be lower. So I still think you fuck this up somehow

Not surprising I guess, but the timing is interesting...
QuotePresident Sanders sounds good doesn’t it.Certainly is one way to cement an inevitable KFC-branded future.
President Sanders sounds good doesn’t it.
Not surprising in the least, but I am worried that this might divide Democrat voters if Bernie is not the nominee.
He's the real racist! I wonder how many of those HK protestors are racist against Black people...
Sanders needs to reboot the campaign and focus on the first four early states plus super Tuesday.
That heart attack ended Bernie's run for the nomination. AOC should know better
Surprised, but only at the lack of political acumen.
No, it isn't. During the last election Warren endorsing Hillary over Bernie pissed off his fans because as you can see this time around, Warren's policies are closer to Bernie's than Hillary's. If AOC endorsed her over Bernie, then that'd just piss off his base and there'd be those that'd refuse to get behind her support. But her coming out and endorsing Bernie right now will allow her to later endorse someone else (like Warren) if Bernie doesn't get the nom without any of the backlash.

Yep. Makes me reconsider my planned vote for her when she's eligible too
New: Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib will also endorse Sanders, according to source. AOC will, as @daveweigel and @WaPoSean first reported, will do the same on Saturday in NYC.

sow that discord
Disappointing. All three of them should be doing better than siding with that old fool.
I'll never get how people can take an honest look at Bernie and want him as president. He would be 83 at the end of his first term and just had a heart attack. There is a VERY real chance he doesn't survive his term. I get why folks like him and his politics, but Warren is very close to them and Isn't likely to keel over mid term.
QuoteThat heart attack ended Bernie's run for the nomination. AOC should know betterMaybe she does.
Ayanna Presley so far has not endorsed him.
Bernie and yang are in the same group seriously, living in a world other than reality
Pretty much. Bernie and Warren are going to rip each other to shreds and that moron is going to coast to the nomination and then get destroyed by Trump. The complete lack of foresight on Bernie and Warren's part here is maddening.
Yup. If it turns out that AOC is playing the long haul here by initially appeasing Bernie's camp and then providing Warren an endorsement next year after he's out of the running, I think that's the smartest play she could personally opt to make.
Ya. I agree. If things were going well for Bernie, he wouldn't be pulling the endorsement now. But he absolutely HAS to stop the bleeding. To me, that's the best you can hope for with an AOC/Squad endorsement. It's not going to help him among any group he's doing poorly with. There are a few endorsements that actually do have the potential to shake up the race for different people. An AOC endorsement of Warren would be big because of what it implies. But it doesn't have the same weight here. Similarly, Clyburn endorsing Bernie would be HUGE, whereas if he endorsed Biden it would be a meh endorsement.I agree Bernie's team has to do something to stop the bleeding. That's the best you can hope for from this, and maybe a news cycle where they won't be talking about his heart.
QuoteBiden it is, then. That's what this whole shitshow will result in. And then the fuckers that cant find it in their heart to vote for him will destroy us all.
Biden it is, then.
I don't understand the calculus behind the squad endorsing Bernie so early.Even if they're fans of his, they know they're big names in the party. And big names don't endorse this early...much less endorse the candidate that just had a heart attack and, for good reason, is sinking in the polls.

this news has borken planet smasher:
The last Dem presidential primary endorsement that mattered was Ted Kennedy
Like I said, these endorsements were already lined up ahead of time. This is shooting his load to stop the bleeding in the polls and shift the narrative. Which is smart, because he absolutely had to do something to fix that. But in terms of endorsements, this early on is shooting your shot so to speak months and months before any primary vote is cast.
They might be big names but they're really only popular within a very small subset of the Democratic electorate.
Thank you for this meaningful post that moves the discussion forward that isn't brazen attention seeking
Bad faith posting is prohibited
Definitively not a shit stirrer aimed to rile up a community with dumb generalization with a repeated history.
Regardless of who gets the nomination it's most imperative for Sanders to drop out as soon as possible. Hopefully these endorsement have no effect on his poliing just to help calm me a bit.
Good. This would deflect the socialism attack from the right on Warren.
Because Sanders had them already lined up, and his heart attack has crippled his numbers and overall image/narrative. His campaign is whipping AOC out because they need something to stop the bleeding. It's less AOC endorsing Sanders, and more Sanders Campaign calling AOC and saying "it's time, we need you"
And, yeah, I didn't really care that much about AOC. I don't hate her. My opinion on her hasn't changed. I never brought up AOC unprompted. Ever. And that kinda speaks for itself.
how about you point out a single point in the last month where i've referred to AOC at allthis is why it's so rich that you always bitch about this thread in ETC, because it's plain as fucking day that you come in here posting a bunch of moronic generalizing garbage that literally adds nothing to discussion so you can air grievances in metaposts endlessly once you invariably get dunked on

Moderation took a fucking vacation with this thread i know that much. Reports be damned. They dont give a shit.
Any criticism of Bernie is superficial. Obey. Submit. Be uncritical or be ousted. Our perfect candidate can't be anything less than the perfect candidate. /s

ERA to AOC, Illhan Omar, and Rishida Talib. (Image removed from quote.)
AOC and Co should be capitalizing on Warren's recent surge and backing her, they could finally take Biden down permanently.
Anyone think this will set up an "arms race" of getting key endorcements? I can imagine Biden calling Obama tonight asking him to appear on stage together this weekend.
I admit, I don't get how this broke the political side of ERA. People make endorsements because these campaigns understand the power of certain endorsements. Do they think politicians were going to stay on the sidelines for the entire primary?
