It was a plot by white women solely to attack Shy, a British dude.

Sorry for the rant but had to post it somewheore to get it off my chest.

I recently struck up a connection with someone (long distance, not IRL) and it came on quite quickly. It seemed like there was a connection, we had a lot in common, both in how fucked up we both were and in our hopes/dreams and what we wanted out of life as well as a ton of interests we shared (that's how we got to talking in the first place).

Then about as quickly as it began it just..stopped, like we were texting and sending messages everyday, getting to know each other and what our lives were like and our pasts and she'd talk about wanting to find love and everything and how much she liked me. Then just one day it stopped, like suddenly, no more messages from her. I'd send one, get a reply to it and that's it, she'd never text me unless I texted her and then before I know it she's talking about being with some other guy on her sm.

I'm just sitting here like, did I fuck it up somehow? If not then how can people literally just lead you along and drop you, not even tell you "things aren't working out," just straight up stop talking to you like one day they want to love you and unload their entire life story for you and the next pretend like you're just some random stranger.

I know, it wasn't in person and online but it still hurts ☹.

Got banned for ignoring the warning:
Quote
I got a warning for “avatar shaming” someone who was decrying the “censorship” of the characters while sporting a little anime girl as the avatar.

ok.

I lot of these guys put way too much of a focus on these faux online ''relationships''.  They are inherently disconnected from social ties beyond family and a few friends since they waste their lives on Twitch, Discords, and forums. If you want to do that, more power to you.  But if you want to develop romantic opportunities, it's a piss poor strategy.

There's also the other side, when a reee actually talks to a woman in the real world for longer than 5 minutes, but then immediately becomes a stalker and writes a whiny OT about how he doesn't understand why he was rejected.  :doge

Nah I think this is just old people gatekeeping bullshit.
All of cinema is trash(MCU included) on the basis of being enlightening to be honest never learned anything useful from it, maybe they should try writing books instead if they want to create enlightening content.

All you ever learn from cinema is fake garbage often painting you a toxic worldview from misogyny, to trash depictions of mathemticians, to trash depictions of musicians, to trash depictions of ton of other jobs, so enlightening.... xD

Cinema has never been about depicting what is true, but what is exciting.
You should watch better movies...
Why when I can read books *shrug*. Cinema still playing catchup to the actual enlightening content of books.
Also dunno aren't good will hunting, whiplash, interstellar all considered good movies? They're all trash on the basis of being enlightening.
Good will hunting shows you math is easy if you're born for it, which is not reality as stated by the actual person proving fermat's last theorem.
Interstellar bends physics where convenient to tell a more entertaining story not sure what's enlightening about that, I guess some people find fake news enlightening too. Whiplash also twists what being a musicians is about for a more exciting narrative angle but that does not enlighten, it entertains.
As much as these old men try to pretend their doing high art teaching you anything in the end it's just bogus because in the end it's just fancy entertaining lies.

Heck games are more enlightening content compared to cinema.

Too much bread and too many circuses in America for that kind of turnout to happen.
I've been thinking about this too.
There were some insanely huge protests this year (this, Hong Kong, Czech for example) but I haven't read anything about a large scale protest in the US since the first year of the Trump administration. Were there any?
Quote from: Dr. Monkey, moderator
We are all terrified of being fired here for missing work/getting arrested or not impacted badly enough by terrible policies. The worst policies either only impact small percentages or people who are already oppressed in various ways.
Quote
There was nothing like that. The political energy in the US seem to mostly be focused around the Democratic primaries these days, and I personally hate it.
Another thing worth remembering is that cops in the US are fucking awful, and protests with that level of disruption is gonna mean a whole lot of dead people.
Quote from: Messofanego
Maybe Americans are more scared of losing a day's pay or are too centrist/center-right to partake in protests? There needs to be more mobilisation and a strong unified message across various groups to reach into millions of people protesting.

Americans fearing for their jobs instead of attending protests need to watch the video of the woman kicking the guy with the AK-47 on repeat...
or maybe

and work with me here

we continue to have a democratic government despite its limitations, and even better the country remains republican in nature and spirit and society generally operates no matter what the government is or isn't doing currently

On the other hand his family has owned the Detroit Lions forever and look how garbage they are.

Erase them if you don't want to run a franchise like crap.

Edit: derp. I thought you were referencing Henry Ford as some other person to cancel from history books, rather than the MCU talks.

So yeah, I looked up his movies. Apocalypse Now was ok I guess, didn't do much for me.
He may have had to film in a jungle. But Disney had to make a deal with Sony to get Spider-Man.
That's way more of a dramatic moment in cinematic history.

Disney still going for that $10 billion movie revenue year,

Fuck old people

I'll repeat in case your hearing aid didn't work: Fuck old people

(Image removed from quote.)

only 5 days but still

I look forward to a thread there of posters talking about how flawed and unwatchable Coppola's movies Raging Bull and Goodfellas are, and how he's just not really a good director.

getting old has made me appreciate simpler times when the worst you'd hear about the movie industry was that multitudes of well-known actors publicly voice their support for an admitted sex criminal.

"Let's see the enthusiast PC market get out of THIS situation"
*enthusiast PC market emerges out of yet another console launch period with continued growth*
"Well it's completely irrelevant anyway as most of their users are grandmothers who have no idea Steam is launching on startup"

:lol This is so true and the thread is typical of pc discussion/technology on era. Can't wait for the Cernystation 5 to CRUSH PC with its 8 COREZ and FASTEST SSD ON THE PLANET and CUSTOM SECRET SAUCE GPU.

Just like the run up to last gen when people thought they were getting a 7950/70 and some hyperpowered octocore amd secret sauce CPU in their $400 PS4.

What makes things better is this time there might be more election/political meltdowns when these boxes launch and tariffs. Misery buffet.

Is it that time of the week when the Era resident MCU stans have to defend their favorite manchildren movies?

nicca, you think I'm going watch an hour video about this shit?
From what I remember:
- says he's doing great on the weight loss, even without accompanying therapy (obvious bullshit)
- he has comfort foods and he needs a lot of comfort, m'kay?
- issues out the ass, but maintains he doesn't need help
- minor vendetta with some gym-owner/fitness Youtuber who urged him to seek help, and then friends and family to intervene
- emotionally manipulative when called out (haha, I should kill myself, right)
- abused by parent(s), but intensely idolizes and defends them still in teary-eyed fit on his stream
- "you don't get my humour" after talking some pretty bad shit about a lifelong friend who died from cancer (?)
- he's starting to resemble his satirical Francis character, using it to channel his frustrations

tl;dr Needs therapy ASAP, and IMO a job that doesn't expose all the above to the intense scrutiny of so many people.

Nah

This is a gaming forum talking about computer games and Blizzard are one of the best. If I wanted to get into the politics of recent events I’d discuss that elsewhere. This is a thread about Diablo so please do fuck off, thank you.
