Also there's a realistic possibility that Yaniv has made more money from secret tribunal settlements than he's being forced to pay out to 3 of 12+ victims ($6000 in total).

The more I see this, the more I ask "why did they transition early?" You can see the can still on her ass before the pay off.
I'm sure I've seen a better version where the transition is much better

For such a virulent attention-seeking troll, $6000 is a small price to pay for that amount of notoriety.

$6k is also a lot lower than the $55k the fake-judge ordered against some dude for putting up flyers about a trans politician. Which Yaniv has specifically referenced as part of his desire for an "early christmas present" from the fake-judge.

shiny happy people indeed. Whenever I get in a rut you know what I do, look for a new job, get out the house and see friends more it usually helps.

These people are just so unwilling to help themselves, and when the poll suggests that a lot of them are over 30+ it makes the whole idea of being that bad at self management so much more depressing.

alas the longer a thread goes on the higher number of reports are generated

they probably have it down to a science over there, if a thread generates 40 reports it has officially run its course

because it has become prohibitively taxing for the moderation team to police it to the high level of standards all have come to know and love within the hallowed halls of era

That's why if you allowed threads to stay open longer, you could limit the number of reports users could make daily. If you want to stop people doing childish review bombs for really non issues you give them like 5 a day, so that way it may teach them of when to put in a report instead of just spamming because someone said something different to their world view.

Or just arrange IRL fights for them and stream them a lot of money in that.

sorry not sorry for the DP please don't report.

Yeah that is one of the things that can happen, but at least you gave it a shot and have an upto date CV that you can then use to apply for more positions.

Y’all just couldn’t behave yourselves in those twitter replies and Instagram comments. Either that or they’re making a smart business decision to not give the goods away for free. I’m not even a foot guy I just think this is hilarious.

1. Don't take pictures of themselves without shoes or socks on
2. Don't take pictures of themselves below the ankles
3. Don't take pictures of themselves
4. Get off social media

Might as well censor your belly, your chest, your shoulders, heck censor your face. People can and will polish the pole with just about anything they can get if that's what they're worried about

Kirblar started that weak ass "Snowden is a racist for not whistle blowing while GWB was in office" line of attack. Ichthy, being Kirblar's wingman on virtually every topic, jumped right in to back Kirblar up. It was so predictable.

Do those two work in the same shilling agency or something? Kirblar and Ichthy--two seemingly complete strangers that never meet before--being so in-sync with each other on nearly everything is fucking weird and breaks my suspension of disbelief.

Ichthyosaurus said:
Snowden worked at Langley itself, you think he couldn't find shit to whistleblow on if he wanted to? It was a slight insinuation, since how I framed it was correct. He didn't do anything until Obama was president and in later posts I addressed other motives since it's known he wasn't a Democrat. Did he disagree with what the CIA was doing while Bush was in office?
You weren't being slight in the first instance. I've just explained he didn't know about the surveillance programme while at the CIA, your response is: well he should have done something. Sorry he didn't release some random, unimportant information so it could support this fantasy of yours. We have the surveillance programme, that's what he wanted to blow the whistle on, such was its importance, reach and illegality.
oledome
You're suggesting (not in a slight way) that he had information about something as important for the public to know while Bush was president. You're saying his motivation for the release of information was racism and/or his political allignment. You have nothing to back that up. Snowden not being a Democrat has led you and some others to a non-sensical position.

Itchy absolutely destroyed lmao.

There are so many in the thread going off "Well he didn't rat on Bush he must be racist or worse a republican"

These people have no idea actually what he leaked and why. Otherwise they'd have such a different view on him.

Still listening to him on Rogan and holy shit, the GOVT went insane post 9/11

I mean Manning leaked things without any regard for security or for people's safety. She deserved to be jailed for that, and then she refused to answer a grand jury in a seperate investigation into Wikileaks, if I recall correctly, and got jailed for that. She has definitely committed more than her fair share of crimes.

I personally feel that the way they handle threads locking them before people have the chance to get tired of fighting each other is what is somewhat causing the place to get so hostile in the first place, in turn creates the oh I’ll have to go back to my normal thread and bitch about said incident. Sometimes for the greater good it’s better to let the kids fight and then step in punish them accordingly and move on to the next couple of kids arguing.

Sure it’s not nice watching distinguished mentally-challenged fellows fight but sometimes you just got to let them for the greater good.

This whole just put them on ignore is pathetic.

Well that was quite the long care post sorry.

It's kind of a combination isn't it? MODs are too scared to let threads actually run their course because in the course of a "sensitive" thread the language will necessarily get more potentially hurtful and then the prominent members will flood discord with their crybaby tears of literal genocide* being allowed on ERA.

It's also a byproduct of them culling wrong-think. When so many people have the EXACT same opinion about a topic, the only discussion you can have is on the ragged edges which doesn't actually produce any good conversation.

Lastly, I think their blanket ban on any kind of remotely trolly behavior that is not pre-approved by discord is just plain boring. It doesn't improve discourse and makes for a lot of dreadfully unfun topics.

What exactly is wrong with allowing safe-spaces in community threads but also allowing "dismissing so and sos concerns" in other threads?

How the fuck is anyone going to have a conversation if any pushback or questioning is considered "dismissing so and so protected members shrill mating noises and accusations of literal genocide".

Why the fuck am I still concerning myself with how badly ERA is run?

Why the fuck am I still concerning myself with how badly ERA is run?

because it positions itself as loudly as possible as the most left leaning liberal friendly gaming space on the internet, and yet regularly allows itself to become a laughingstock

and as a person with mostly liberal values, it makes you wonder, are these particular people especially insane and terrible?

or is this somehow an inevitability when you collect this many progressives in one space?  is this the natural conclusion?

because you can see the same attitudes mirrored in twitter or other places like lefttube or the democratic socialist convention

and you know in spite of era being insane if you click through to the threads you still see plenty of normal people with reasonable opinions trying to bring things back to a sensible place, so it's probably not all of era or even all of the moderation

but you still watch those people get drowned out into oblivion and usually warned or banned and you say jesus christ
