That's exactly the image that drew my eye. Just spectacular. Well done to that young lady for sharing her body positivity with me.

Edit: she reminds me of Abi Titmuss. Extra points for that.

It's kind of a combination isn't it? MODs are too scared to let threads actually run their course because in the course of a "sensitive" thread the language will necessarily get more potentially hurtful and then the prominent members will flood discord with their crybaby tears of literal genocide* being allowed on ERA.

Its also the fact that basically any thread becomes a "sensitive thread" when certain posters enter and decide they need extra validation in their life today.

LTTP Ghostbusters 2016: Its not very good? BETTER HOPE INCELCHIEFS NOT LURKING.
AND INCELCHIEF IS ALWAYS LURKING.

"Stronger themes". What does that even mean?

It means they don't know what a theme is.  They think Goldeneye 64 has political themes because it's set in Russia.  James Bond in general has "murder" as a theme because they don't know words like plot element, event, or setting.

This is partly due to youtube's horrid algorithm that straight up promotes toxicity. Hence why a video where the uploader calls Rose "that asian bitch" and says a whole lot of other sexist bullshit arguments that I've seen people repeat ad nauseum is constantly recommended on ANYTHING SW related.

:dunno

Is it really teh yootoob algoriddims that make any star wars talk on era a clusterfuck?
You don't think maybe the people who post giant fucking screeds about how tiny brains don't understand the genius of rey being totally not a mary sue, or else they're all incel gamergaters, to the point they're called out by name by multiple fucking posters when a trailer confirms leaks might have something to do with it Crossing Eden?

I don't understand the whining about YouTube algorithms or whatever.  If you're too fucking lazy to search for videos you may like or skip to the next one if it's something you don't agree with, you deserve a ride on the bullet train rather than being put on a pedestal.

Why the fuck am I still concerning myself with how badly ERA is run?

because it positions itself as loudly as possible as the most left leaning liberal friendly gaming space on the internet, and yet regularly allows itself to become a laughingstock

and as a person with mostly liberal values, it makes you wonder, are these particular people especially insane and terrible?

or is this somehow an inevitability when you collect this many progressives in one space?  is this the natural conclusion?

because you can see the same attitudes mirrored in twitter or other places like lefttube or the democratic socialist convention

and you know in spite of era being insane if you click through to the threads you still see plenty of normal people with reasonable opinions trying to bring things back to a sensible place, so it's probably not all of era or even all of the moderation

but you still watch those people get drowned out into oblivion and usually warned or banned and you say jesus christ
I believe you're right when you say it is the natural conclusion. Any type of echochamber results in the same thing, people going more extreme and the reasonable voices being drowned out. There is a reason parliaments have standing rules about discourse and behaviour.

to be fair to chinactivision/blizzard on this one, q&a segments have always been a mix of written and in person questions so them asking for q&a submissions ahead of time isn't new

of course i wouldn't be shocked to see they were doing all pre-written this year but so far this isn't a different practice than before.

Sounds like it’s going to be a real shot show this year.

They’ll likely ban all signs and if you’re wearing anything controversial you’ll be denied entry.

I would argue that Godfather/Goodfellas movies fit the traditional comic book genre/characters stereotype more than the actual MCU movies do.

Except the Godfather/Goodfellas movies do it in a much more derogatory and demeaning way.
